Bring Secrets to Light

Chapter 7

Alex, Ender and W met them in the first room of the castle. Together, Martin and his wife Alexandria led them through more hallways. Bells rang throughout the castle and people joined them as they walked, a flood of people all heading in the same direction.

"So, what's the Hall of Truth?" Blade asked Martin.

"The Hall of Truth is a hall in the very middle of the castle. When someone walks in, their appearance changes to reflect their role. There is also a Voice that announces each person as they come in. We're still trying to figure out where the Voice comes from." Martin smiled as he said the last bit.

"So, what will we look like when we go in?" Blade asked.

Martin smiled at her. "Well, that's what we'll find out."

They reached two large oak doors, reaching to the ceiling high above. Martin turned and addressed the family and Blade.

"When your name is called, walk down the middle aisle. Stand in front of the seats on the right at the front."

Martin then turned and walked to the door, with Alexandria walking beside him. Raising his hand, he knocked three times on the door. The knocks echoed in the Hall and the doors opened soundlessly. From inside the Hall came a voice.

"Martin, the Ruler of Minecraftia and his wife, Alexandria."

Martin and Alexandra walked in the Hall, side by side. As they walked, their clothes changed. Martin's simple brown clothes changed to white clothes with gold pattern. Over his shoulders, a purple cape appeared, bearing a symbol on the back: a square globe of Minecraftia with a gold crown stretching across it.

Alexandria's green dress changed to silver, with black patterns. On the back of her dress she had a similar design to her husband, except she had a small crown underneath the globe. They walked to the back of the Hall and sat down in two thrones.

The Voice called out again. "Neil, Protector of the Ruler of Minecraftia."

Neil walked through the doors. Diamond armour with silver highlights appeared on him, and his diamond sword had purple and blue gems appear on the hilt.

One by one, each person walked inside, each of their clothes changing as they walked down the aisle. Ender was talking quietly to Notch and Steve as they waited and Blade edged closer to hear what they were saying.

"... was talking to Alexandria," Ender was saying. "She said that they have no kids, and that now she's too old to be having kids."

"So who will take over the throne when they're gone?" Notch wondered.

"Alexandria said that a Prince will be chosen by the Light, but that it might be a while before that happens."

Blade looked at Hero. He was looking nervously inside the Hall.

"Are you okay Hero?" Blade asked.

Hero sighed. "Everything is about to change. From the moment we enter that hall, our lives will never be the same."

"What do you mean?" Blade asked.

"I've kept it a secret for so many years, and now... I'm not sure if I'm ready for people to know."

"That didn't answer my question at all."

Hero gave her a small smile. "You'll see Blade. You'll see."

The room outside the Hall emptied until it was just Ender, W, Notch, Alex, Hero, Steve and Blade left. Blade shifted nervously. There were about a hundred people inside the Hall now. What if Blade's name was never called? What would she do? And if her name was called, she would have to walk in front of all of those people, alone. What if her title was something really embarrassing?

The Voice called out again. "Ender, Leader of the End forces!"

Ender looked in confusion at her family, but she stepped forward into the Hall. As she walked, her clothes changed like everyone else's did. Her clothes were purple at her shoulders and then faded to black at her feet. A black cape appeared, with her symbol in the middle: two Ender Dragon eyes at the top with two sets of endermen eyes below, all surrounded by end particles. Ender was looking down at her clothes in amazement.

"W, Leader of the Wither forces!" the Voice called.

W followed her sister into the Hall. Her clothes became dark brown, like soul sand. She didn't have a cape. On her back were three wither heads. One was above the other two, and it was gold.

"Alex, the Peacemaker!"

Alex stepped forward. She was dwarfed by the crowd, but she acted confident. Her simple green shirt and brown pants changed to a light blue dress the came to her shins. On her back was a Yin and Yang: the Yin was green like grass while the Yang was a swirling black, like a void. The circle made by the Yin and Yang was outlined in red, like fire.

Blade shifted nervously. Now, it was only her, Steve, Herobrine and Notch waiting outside the Hall.

"Switchblade, Protector of the Prince and Notch, the Prince of Minecraft," the Voice announced.

Gasps came from the Hall as Blade and Notch stepped in together. As they walked down the aisle, Blade felt her clothes shift and change. When she looked down, she saw that her white shirt and brown pants had been replaced with black clothes that looked like armour that a ninja might wear. A diamond sword had appeared on her waist. On her left shoulder, above her heart, was a crown that had a gold circle around it. Her symbol.

She looked at Notch on her left. He was walking with his head up, his eyes darting everywhere. He wore black clothes too, but he also had a blue cape. Blade could see his symbol on his left shoulder: a square globe with a small crown in the middle of it.

They reached the end of the Hall and stood next to Ender, W and Alex, all of whom were looking at the two with amazement. Actually, everyone was looking at them in amazement. From her position, Blade got a perfect view of Hero and Steve standing right outside the door.

The Voice called out, announcing the twins. "Herobrine, Protector of the Light and Steve, the Vessel of Light."

This time, everyone started talking. Hero and Steve walked down the aisle, Steve with amazement and confusion written all over his face while Hero was calm but still looked slightly nervous, as if he knew this would happen and was wondering how everyone would react. Their clothes both changed until they wore matching brown clothes, in the same style as Blade's. Steve also had a white cape on his shoulders while an enchanted diamond sword replaced Hero's plain diamond one. On Steve's left shoulder, a glowing white diamond appeared. It also appeared on Hero's shoulder, except that it had diamond swords on either side, point down. They came and stood next to Blade, and she noticed that Steve's cape also had the glowing white diamond, but it had a gold pattern around it.

The Voice called out one last time. "The assembly is gathered." Everyone sat down in their seats and there was silence as everyone became settled.
