The three had eaten thier food, the deer that Lilith had caught and killed for them. They had now retreated to the shed, away from the bitter cold of night, and to the warm of each other. Lerinth mostly. I'm fox form, he radiated heat. His tails covered them like a blanket as they laid on him. They were comfortable. Their faces spelled out that they enjoyed laying on him, and he didn't really care all that much. He was happy for the most part. He was full, warm, and had to sexy girls using him as a pillow. It didn'treally get much better than that. Well, unless there was more food. True, Lerinth wasn't hungry often, but he could eat as much as he wanted. He was ok for now, just letting his mind wander as he watched the sleeping girls, almost mesmerized. Almost. Again, the Kitsune never actually had a love interest. He didn't know love, not that way. He loved, but like family, nothing more. He definitely dreamed of loving... or being loved. He put his head down as these thoughts ran through his head. He had no choice but to dwell on this now. He couldn't stop thinking about his dreams or fantasies. He had dreams of people loving him, instead of resenting him. He dreamed of being human, instead of a Kitsune like he was, which was the cause of everyone's hatred towards him. He knew that, but he also knew that his life couldn't be so easily changed. "Lerinth..." Shiro had looked up, seeing him stare off into the unknown abyss that was his mind. It wasn't often Lerinth spoke what he was thinks during times like this, but he always seemed to get depressed when he lost himself in his thoughts. "Lerinth... Hey look at me." Lerinth blinked a few times before looking down. He gave a soft smile, but Shiro knew that he wasn't okay and she frowned. Lerinth's smile faded as she spoke. "I know you're not ok... don't act like you are." Lerinth looked away from her. "I'm here to help you... I want to help in anyway that I can." Lerinth glanced over.
"You can't change who I was born to be..."
Shiro blinked. "What do you mean?"
Lerinth sighed. "Shiro, why did you come to me the first time we met. Why didn't you... why don't you hate me like everyone else?"
Shiro froze up. "...I... I don't understand..."
Lerinth laid his head down again. "I'm a Kitsune... hated umong most races due to it. Especially humans... yet, instead of hating me, you took me in as your own, housed me and took care of me against popular opinion. The reason I'm still alive is because of you... yet... you never actually told me why." Shirt was still stunned by his words but soon understood.
"Lerinth... I took you in because I couldn't bear to see you in pain. You were hurt, hungry, and treated poorly and I hated it. I've always had a soft spot for foxes anyway..." She looked down. His next question shook her a bit.
"Then... Then why did you keep me?" Shiro looked up at the now crimson Kitsune and swallowed hard. "I kept you... because of you. Well, that and how I actually feel now..." Shiro looked down, closing her eyes. "Lerinth... it hasn't really been that long... but truth is that I've stuck with you all this time because... well because I love you." Lerinth froze completely. "I feel safe with you... I can't stand being away from you. Even when you're fighting to protect me, I'm scared. You always get cut or you return to me bleeding. I'm powerless to help you or even heal you. I know I'm not much help, but I've always wanted to be near you through everything... I love you."
Lerinth looked down at the girl, she was blushing a bit as she looked back up at him. "Shiro..." He spoke her name softly. He was at a loss for words, unsure of how to even respond to her. She knew she had made his mind go blank and she took advantage of it. She leaned up, closing her eyes as she gently connected her lips with his. His eyes widened a bit, hers closed completely as she put her all into the kiss. It lasted only seconds, yet for them it felt like hours. She pulled away, laying her head back down unto the body of the Kitsune. She was still tired and it was taking her toll. "Lerinth... promise me something..."
Lerinth blinked, still stunned by her act of affection, but he responded. "What is it?"
"Promise me you won't leave me... promise me that you'll always be close." Shiro yawned with exhaustion, it was heard in her voice as she spoke, but she was more serious than anything. Lerinth had actually picked up on the fact that she was being for real. But, how did he feel? He didn't know about love, he never loved and no one loved him. He was hated. This was... all new to him. He wasn't sure how to respond. He truly didn't want to leave her, but what about Lilith? Surely he'd need to protect her as well. Being committed to one person wasn't the best idea in a situation like this, but he needed to make a decision. He thought for a long while before actually answering her. "I... I promise. I'll always be there to protect and watch over you." The half asleep Shiro smiled.
"I'll hold you to that promise. That much I promise." Lerinth only smiles as he puts his head back down. Shiro had fallen asleep and Lerinth wrapped his tails tighter around the girls. "I'll protect you both... or I'll die trying." He told himself . He couldn't bear to see either of them get hurt. Sure he'd only been with Liking for a day, and he wasn't sntir4trusting of her, but he still felt the same way. He would protect them with everything he had even if dying was a price to pay. He promised himself that.
