It was Wednesday morning. Sarah could hear her phone vibrate. She had he head half through her sweater. By the time she fully wore her royal blue sweater. She had missed the call.
She walked over and picked it up and it said the missed call was from Charlotte's number. She pressed call and the daily tone began to ring.
"Hello?" said Sarah. On the other end of the line seemed she was talking to speakerphone and the loud noise of a hair dryer was going on and then it stopped.
"Oh, Hey Sarah. It's Char. I called you to tell you the same thing I told Tiffany before I called you. My mother and I are heading away for the weekend. And I want you to promise me you won't go to the bridge..." she paused.
"And Tiffany already agreed, so I was hoping this time you would agree too."
Sarah frowned and thought about the bridge and that night there. She pondered on saying, I can't make any promises, but she thought it through and agree for the sake of her friendship. Sarah replied " I promise."
"Okay, Sarah I'll believe you!" said Charlotte puzzled. "OK! I will see you at class, bye for now!"
Then the phone clicked.Sarah then placed her phone back down on her night stand. And she continued to go to ready for school.
...
It was Friday morning and Sarah thought she would call Tiffany before they went to school to see about Charlotte's leave.
"Hi, Sarah!" said Tiffany excitedly. Sarah replied " Good morning, Tiffany. Has Charlotte left with her mom yet, I didn't get or text or call? "Yah they left about an hour ago."
Sarah was confused. She even promised Charlotte that she would not visit the bridge and yet she didn't even message or call when she left with her mom. She always did.
"So, now that Charlotte's gone for the weekend with her mom. What do you have planned? Tiffany asked.
It became silent for more then a minute on Sarah's end of the call. Tiffany then yelled "HEY SARAH! YOU STILL THERE?"
Sarah replied frowning this time "Yes... I'm here." "What wrong? Sarah!" Tiffany asked concerned.
"Well... you know last night Charlotte called me after she said she called you and asked me to promise not to go to the bridge and I promised. I don't get it why she would just leave and not text or call me... she said she believed me"
Tiffany said "Well, I'm sure she believes you, but you do have a tendency to make promises and not keep them when they come to a night like the bridge."
Sarah huffed and puffed but she knew Tiffany was right. "Yes... you right! Thanks Tiffany for telling me that so understand a little bit more of how you both look at me. I guess I will see you at school... bye" Sarah hung up her phone and sat on her bed for a few minutes and then continued to get ready for school and upon completing her wardrobe she exited her room.
