The Night under the Bridge

Candle Wax Trail

Sarah right after school the next day. Notice a very odd substance of waxy like on the ground marking a trail. She would normal turn and he home but she was curious where the Candle Wax Trail would lead.

She continued looking down every few steps in her pace to make sure she was not off course. After a little while she looked ahead and notice that the trees up ahead were reminding her of something.

Next she took a turn with the trail and then she realized the bridge was right up ahead.

The sun was starting to set and the wind picked up moving the tree branches quickly.

Sarah picked out her cell phone from her pants pocket, messaged Tiffany and told her to come immediately.

Tiffany was in the shower and while towel drying she noticed an update on her phone. She picked it up and seen it was a message from Sarah.

After reading the message she decided to call Sarah and tell her she would be right over.

Ring...Ring...Ring... Click. Sarah had no voice mail setup and she was not one to bother with ever setting it up.

Tiffany hurried to get dress and decided that she would try again. Ring...Ring... He..ll.o?" "Hello! Sarah? You stay at near the bridge.

A weak signal dropped the call but not before Sarah said "Charlotte's.... dead"

Tiffany ran down her stairwell, out of the house and ran as fast as she could to the bridge.

"SARAH?" yelled Tiffany. " OVER here!" replied Sarah.
"What happened?!" "I can't believe it. She gone." cried Sarah and Tiffany followed with tears dripping down her cheeks and every few seconds a small choke up.

Eventually, the paramedics arrived. They took away Charlotte's body and cleaned up the blood droplets and collected any other evidence.

Sarah and Tiffany would being questioned about Charlotte's death and they gave their alibi.

The Chief of police did ask for both of them to take his card and if anything came to mind about the current situation, to contact him immediately. He also ask for them to come to the station again after school two days from now. Sarah and Tiffany agreed and then they exited the police station and headed home.

They started to cry again. They held in their feeling during the whole process of the investigation. But nows their emotions naturally poured out. They couldn't help it and who could after their best friend head been pronounced dead by medical professionals.

The rest of the night they stayed together and had a sleep over at Sarah's house. Sarah's parents were completely on board and encourage Tiffany to stay the night. Tiffany's parents were on board too even though it was a school night. Both sets of parents knew how close the three girls were.

Sarah and Tiffany had their sleeping arrangements completed and as Tiffany was padding her pillow, Sarah being the strong one and kind of resisted the whole hugging group thing before. Broke down and called over Tiffany to hug and hold until they could go to sleep.
