Fireheart And Warrior Life

Chapter 8

ThunderClan territory

Fireheart was wondering around a oak tree when he smelt ShadowClan. "Graystripe, do you smelll ShadowClan?"

Graystripe lifted his nose and smelt the air. "I do and they seem close by." 

Fireheart's eyes got wide with fear. Would ShadowClan attack? Would they try and kill Bluestar again as they had a few weeks ago? So many questions were running through Fireheart's mind when he felt a heavy body land on his back. He spat with rage. 

"Kittypet!" Fireheart heard a familiar hiss. It was Dustpaw, a ThunderClan apprentice. He was teamed up with ShadowClan. 

The two cats fought with teeth and claws. The fight showed no end. The two cats rolled into a badger den and Dustpaw landed on Fireheart and the snapping of bone told Fireheart that his ribs had been broken from the fall. 

"Give up kittypet?" Dustpaw taunted.

"Never!" Fireheart hissed with fury. He got enough strength to take a nip at Dustpaw's nose. The young cat ran away screeching at his lose. 

"Fireheart?" Graystripe called to his friend.

"I'm here." Fireheart mewed. The pain from his broken ribs made his world go black.

"Is he okay?" Bluestar was standing over Fireheart's motionless body that was laid in a bed of soft moss.

"I don't know." Spottedleaf meowed with worry. "He hasn't moved since Graystripe brought him back to camp." 

"Keep treating him and keep me updated on how he is." Bluestar turned and left. 

Graystripe made his way into the medicine cat's den. "How is he?" 

"He has not moved since you brought him in yesterday." Spottedleaf gave Graystripe a few comforting licks. 

Fireheart started coughing, his body shaking, he was gasping for air. Spottedleaf rushed over and started feeding him herbs. The coughing stopped and Fireheart laid motionless again. 

Graystripe's heart fell. Would his friend ever wake up from this state? If he does wake up will he every be the same? What will his life be like? The questions kept running through Graystripe's mind. Graystripe walked out of the den.
