Life Still Goes On

Chapter 2

Carolyn POV
Well , I guess this goes nothing....

At Harmonic High , i was met with double wooden doors so big that they were almost ten times the size of me . Mind you , I'm quite short . But still those doors were damn tall. I swiftly followed the other students which went in as the doors opened , welcoming our arrival .

I think I better explain a bit more about this school. You didn't think I would be bothered to research about this school , did ya? Well , I did . Okay , back to facts .,..

There are four houses . Helians, Synnefians , Asterians and Fengarians . The Helians had a logo of the mighty sun and was taken care of by the Prince Sol Helius . Students there were brave and more adventurous people. Warrior types , you could say. The Synnefians had a logo of the wind and was taken care of by Prince Nor Synnefo. They were more of the kind and artistic students . They were more on to designing and all sorts of stuff .

The Asterians had a logo of millions of stars and was taken care of by Princess Stele Asteria . They were the smartest students , most top score  students went there. You wouldn't even beat a quiz with them unless you were one of them . Lastly , The Fengarians had a logo of the moon and was taken care of by Princess Luna Fengari. They were the ambitious ones . If you ever got in their way , you better watch out coz they can be really resourceful and most jokers are there too. So watch out!

Okay so yah... that's all . So , as we went into the gigantic hallways. There were four banners with each of the houses , decorated with colors and emitting of each of the houses uniqueness .

Okay. So .. I was definitely not brave , not artistic , nor cunning , not even smart . How am I suppose to even fit in this school. What if I'm not worth any of these houses ? What if they made a mistake in accepting me as a student here and I get sent home during the sorting , in front of everyone . Damn, why did I even agree coming here . ...

"Oof...." While I was deep in my thought , I didn't even notice someone came crashing over .

"Omg. I am so sorrry. I thought I was late for it and I didn't see where I was going . I am so sorry" said the student

"No , it's fine . "
"I am Jessica btw . What's yours? "
"I'm Carolyn."

" I'm sorry , Carolyn . Not even 5 mins in this school and I'm already starting to bump into people. I don't know what's wrong with me ."

" Nah , its fine , Really no problem at all "

Then , we shook hands . Turns out she was also newbie here . Luckily I wasn't the only one . Then , some girl came running towards us shouting Jessica 's name .

She was trying to catch her breath while saying " How .....do you..... even run so .....fast ..."

" Hehehe. Habits? Oh yah ! This is my new friend , Carolyn. "
'We are friends? 'I thought in my mind . It's been a long while since I had any 'friends'

"Hi Carolyn . I'm Christy "
"Pleasure to meet you "

Well , at least I have friends before I start getting myself humiliated in this school . Pretty sure it's gonna happened not long soon.

Then , all three of us got sorted into the Synnefians. Well. I'm not artistic myself . But pretty sure , Jessica and Christy are . They were naturals . Jessica loved making sick beats . Merging songs together , adding up some cool drum beats and she would make a cool song for you in a split. Christy , she had hands of a goddess . She could literally craft even the most small and gentle things , better than you can imagine .

Well , I on the other hand ?  Didn't know what was my purpose there . Guess the school didn't want to show that they suddenly did a mistake for letting me in , and just simply gave me a house to be in so it would look like I fit in perfectly.

We had the whole day off , class only starts tomorrow. I laid down in my bed , staring at the ceiling . It was actually almost night . Jessica and Christy was falling asleep while I was still wide awake . Not willing to dream about the nightmare again . Sometimes  , i would lay on my bed the whole night , eyes wide open , brain going through like thousands of thoughts . It wasn't a nice situation to be in , with the silence of the whole room and your head spinning with words .

Then , something like talked to me . Well, it wasn't the first time my brain was talking , but suddenly i had this certain urge to go somewhere . I guess it's just my curiosity side . I don't know what was wrong with me . But you know that feeling where you want to go somewhere but you don't know . Well, I was facing it right now . So , I just went on with it .

I walk through the dark hallways . Not understanding my brain like every now and then . Then, suddenly I heard some footsteps . I immediately woke up from my daze and remembered about the rule. No students were allowed to get up from bed in the middle of the night.

I quickly rushed in one of the classrooms . I really should not let my mind take me in a trance anymore . I hid under one of the tables . Silently cursing to myself . Why couldn't I just be normal and live on with life ?

Then the door creaked opened slowly. It was Princess Luna Fengari . What was I suppose to do ? Luck was certainly not on my side . The meanest teacher just had to be on duty when I am caught sneaking around . It was heard that you wouldn't want to be caught by her doing something really bad . And I had just done it and almost gonna be caught by her .

Then , she called for her snake , her little pet , Nagini. It slithered onto the floor and came to the table that I was hiding under . I quietly pleaded the snake not to expose me , not that it understood me .

But for some reason , it stared into me . And just slithered of . I knew I was damn lucky to even being let off by the snake . But something tells me that this wasn't the end of my story.

The princess walked off. A bit angry maybe. Then I slowly crept back into my bed and dozed off to sleep . For some reason , that night , I was dreaming about the snake , just staring at me  and not the nightmare I used to have .
