As I made my expedition home, darkness fell upon my small British town of Holmes Chapel. I quickened my pace as to make it home faster in this unsettling darkness.

Just as I was about to turn the corner, a car pulled up from no where.

"Need a ride?" asked a familiar Irish accent that didn't fit with anyone else's here in Holmes Chapel.

"No, Niall. Leave me alone," I said walking even faster to escape the advances of my cheating ex-boyfriend.

"Julia I'm sorry for all that I've done to you but are you seriously going to walk home alone in the dark?" he asked playing the cards with my weaknesses.

"Yes, besides Harry wouldn't like it if I got in that car with you," I commented throwing the "new boyfriend" card in his face.

"Well he shouldn't mind that I'm saving his girlfriend from the potential dangers of the drunks and drug addicts that roam these streets at night," he said.

"Fine," I said getting into Niall's car. It smelled like him and the scent brought back memories of when he would hug me and I buried my face in his chest.

I immediately shook the thoughts out of my mind. Hugging Niall should be the furthest thing from my mind right now.

"Jules I'm really sorry, I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I said those things to Harry. Seeing you with him just doesn't feel right," he said. I wanted to accept his apology but what he said was not okay.

"Don't call me that and stop apologizing," I said looking out the window. Niall just let out a sigh and kept driving.

It was obvious that he took the longer way back to my house because we were in the car for about five minutes when I should have only had to deal with his presence for two.

"Bye Jules-uh I mean Julia," Niall said when he stopped his car in front of my house.

"Bye," I flatly replied getting out and slamming the door. I scurried into my house and I could feel that he was watching me. Creep.

When I finally got inside the smell of chocolate met my nose and I followed the smell into the kitchen where my mum stood dipping various fruits into melted chocolate.

"Hey babe, how was your girls day out?" my mum asked when she noticed me standing in the doorway admiring her work.

"It was great, I really needed to get all of those things off of my chest," I said. My mum and I were really close and I always came to her if I had a problem.

"That's great love, would you like to help me with this?" she asked. I nodded as I walked over to the sink to wash my hands.

My mother instructed me on what to do so that the chocolate stayed on the fruit.

While we made these delicious treats, I occasionally popped some into my mouth only to have my mum give me a stern look. I would then give her my best "What? I'm innocent." smile while batting my eyelashes and we would both just laugh it off.

It was fun times with my mom like this that didn't make me regret my fathers departure. Of course I always missed him, but when my mum and I did fun things like this it's like I completely forgot that my father was no longer around.

"I'm going to bed mum," I said once we had finished and cleaned up.

"You sure you're going to be able to sleep with all of that chocolate in your system?" she asked. I laughed and nodded.

"I'll manage, good night mum," I said giving her a tight squeeze before stalking off into my bedroom.

"Good night darling," she said waving me off.

When I reached my room, I pulled my phone out of my purse and checked to see if anyone had called or messaged me. Harry had called about and hour ago and sent me a text saying, "Call me when you can. x"

I dialed his number and counted three rings before he answered.

"Hello?" he said.

"Hi, what did you want me to call you about?" I asked.

"Well tomorrow my brother is turning 18 and I wanted to know if you wanted to come to his party with me," Harry asked.

"Yeah sounds great. What time?" I asked.

"I'll pick you up at 9," he said.

"Alright," I said.

"Good night love," he said.

"Good night Haz," I said giggling at the ridiculous nickname that he was given a couple of years ago by Niall. I could almost hear Harry rolling his eyes.

"Bye," he said and he hung up the phone.

As I was about to get into my pajamas, I remembered that tomorrow was Sunday which meant it was a school night and I didn't know how well this party would go over with my mum.

I decided to just see what she thought in the morning because I was exhausted and I needed sleep. I slipped on my fuzzy pajama pants and crawled into bed hoping for a dreamless sleep. Unless, of course, the dreams were of Harry, then I'd be okay with that.
