I approached Marshall Kaden with butterflies in my stomach. He seemed to know right away what I wanted, because his hand flashed out. I braced myself for a backhand, but it never came. I opened my eyes and saw a thin stack of papers on the desk beside me. On it, it read:

Thank God! I never thought I'd get be accepted into the Jaeger Program. Everything's perfect but.... Raleigh can't be my pilot. He's okay smart, but he's just so reckless. He's a jerk. If I spent one hour locked up in a cage with him, I'd come out insane. Newt's great. He's humorous, intelligent, kind and understanding. Gottlieb is the same way, only less talkative and more serious. Why do I always get stuck with the popular idiots? I don't suppose there's anything I can do without getting kicked out of the program. Despite my misfortune, I can't wait to start.
