What Emily Fields hates the most in the world is having to wait. What's even worse is waiting for her father-in-law to show up to their scheduled dinner. She saw how her wife busied herself in preparing different dishes and tidying the house. Emily was still too disgruntled to be of much help. Aside from setting the table, she just really stared at her wife's ass as she jiggles around the house. The blonde had slapped her shoulder for being such a pervert so many times that she thinks it's getting numb.
Their preparations was all for nothing however when Kenneth called in that he had an emergency meeting in Philly. Emily could see the disappointment in her wife's face and she tried to cheer her up by eating a large portion of the food Ali cooked, thanking her for preparing such a sumptuous dinner. Ali kept a conversation with her but she knows her wife was still upset. They ended up cuddled on the couch, watching reruns of Big Bang Theory before she felt Alison drifted off to sleep. Emily carried her to the bedroom and hugged her as they slept through the night.

It happened three times again for the past month. Kenneth called, wanting to have a dinner with the two but then cancelling it in the last-minute. Alison almost lost her hope in seeing her Dad in the near future when three consecutive knocks interrupted Alison and Emily's movie marathon one Saturday night. "I'll get the door." Emily kissed her wife's forehead before disentagling herself from her wife and heading off to open their door.
"Surprise!" A beaming Jessica DiLaurentis with a wine bottle in one hand and a cake box in another greeted Emily upon opening the door. Three men were behind Jessica, sporting the same, smug look. "Wow! Hey, guys! C-come in." Emily took the cake box from her mother-in-law and opened the door wider and the four DiLaurentis had entered their cozy abode.
A squeal could be heard from the living room as Alison hugged and welcomed her family into their apartment. "I couldn't believe you're all here." Alison beamed at her family, and if she was being honest, she felt like tearing up. Damn it, hormones! Her Mom had the same look on her face and she hugged her only girl again. "Well, I know your father is wanting to have dinner with the both of you but he couldn't get his head off work so I decided to step in and asked him to call in sick at work. Sufficed to say, I also dragged these two gentlemen to go with us. It'll be a good bonding time and I really miss you. How have you been? Are you feeling alright?" Jessica gave her a knowing look and Alison just nodded at her mother. "I'm sorry, this place is a mess. We really didn't know you were going to be here." Jessice laughed at that. "This sure is a mess." Jason said and smirked as his eyes drifted to the unruly blanket on the couch. Emily blushed, giving them away. They might have kept themselves occupied on the couch before startig their movie marathin and before the DiLaurentis brood came. Jessica gave her son a stern look which quieted the man. "Oh, don't worry about it, honey. I may not be Pam Fields but I'm sure we can do something to prepare for dinner." She looked at Emily and smiled before she asked Ali to go with her to the kitchen and reprimanded Emily as she also made her way to the the kithen. Her mother-in-law had told her to bond with the boys instead.
"Oh, boy. This sure is going to be a long night." Emily muttered under her breath.

"Miami Heat is sure doing good this season." Jason started a conversation with her dad and brother, and possibly her sister-in-law. Charles nodded at him, taking a gulp at his beer. Emily tries not to grimace because the boys had ransacked their fridge, finding the six pack she was actually daydreaming of drinking tomorrow when she'll have Toby over for a barbecue. Something they have actually planned. "Lebron is still just the king, you know. He doesn't let up." Kenneth nodded his agreement before the three boys cheered as their favorite team scored again. Emily was just looking at them, not knowing what she have to add on the conversation. "So, Emily, what's your favorite NBA team?" Emily dragged her attention from their flatscreen TV to her father-in-law. "Uh... Um, definitely... You know, Miami Heat." She answered uncertainly. It was actually the Spurs since his father was from Texas but she don't want to be on the bad side of her wife's family. Not that I'm doing a very good job. Emily thought.
