Ashley's POV

I'm happy to have got a few reads. It's a good start for me but please leave comments, I want to know how my writing is and please point out any grammatical or spelling errors. I'm not sure about my update schedule, I'm just going with the flow for now.

Standing in the lunch line, I scan through the cafeteria to find Mira. My eyes lighten on seeing a red head amongst the crowd. She was sitting across her brother Matt, laughing at something he said. It has always been easy to find Mira, she stands out among the crowd with her stunning red hair that is always let loose in soft curls that hang down her back and her piercing green eyes. Her brother, on the other hand, had jet black hair that sat on his head in a messy mop but shared the same piercing green eyes with his sister.
I walked through the crowd to sit beside her. Keeping my plate on the table, I dragged the chair next to Mira, when a blonde boy with brown eyes flashed me a smile.
'Hi Trevor', Mira said in her sing-song voice. How could Mira be so friendly with everyone?
'Do you mind if I sit here?'
'No!', I interjected.' You can find a seat next to someone else!'
He glared at me as if I told him to donate both his kidneys, but then turned to sit on another table. 'Ash, he was just trying to be friendly,' Matt sighed.
'You cannot push away all boys just because of that incident which happened years ago. You have to learn to face your trust issues.'
'Mira! I was not trying to scare him away! I was just...'
Tears threatened to roll down my cheeks but I blinked them away before the Edward siblings could notice. As I looked up I locked my teary eyes with Caleb who was staring at me from a distance. His eyes had deepened and turned to a more chocolaty shade of brown. Was that concern? Before I could contemplate anything, he gave me a cocky grin and looked away, leaving me confused.
'Ash, why are you staring at Cocky Caleb?'  That was what I had named him after all these years of torture.
'He told me I was allergic to boys', I blurted out.
Mira gave me a concerned look which I tried to avoid. Thankfully, the bell rang and I grabbed my bag and hurried towards my class.
Photography was my favourite class, one class where I could express myself and I loved it. ( also the fact that it was Cocky Caleb free).
As I arrange my project portfolio Mr Woods approached me.
'Ms Williams, can I have a word with you?'
'Yeah sure Mr Woods is there any problem?'
'Ms Williams the school newspaper is planning to start a new column for which they need a photographer. They need more emotional pictures and I think your photographs always have depth in them. This will be a very good experience for your photography and it will earn you enough credits to get into Photography school.'
'Ok sure, I don't mind working as a photographer with the paper.'
'I will talk to the head of the editorial team for you Ms Williams, you will start working with them from tomorrow, after school.'
'Thank you, Mr Woods'
I walk out smiling to myself.  This could be fun.

I'm still searching for a person who can fit the description of Matt, but I'll post the picture as soon as I find it. The characters are based on my thoughts you can imagine them however you want to.
