Could you stay? (Lu x Ciel)

Lu looked up at Ciel, breathing a bit heavily. He was unintentionally pinning her down, as he had knocked her away from the blast of Aisha's recent experiment gone wrong. He looked down at her and smiled slightly, a hint of worry and concern for her safety reflecting in his eyes.

"Lu? Are you alright?" He asked Lu. After a split second of silence, she snapped out of her slight trance and quickly nodded.

"Y-yeah, I'm okay," she laughed nervously. He smiled at her again and Lu looked into his eyes, admiring the blue that surrounded the black star motif. He got off her and offered her his hand. Lu stared at it before taking his hand and using it pull herself up. Upon standing, Ciel put his hand on her forehead after taking off one of his gloves, causing her to blush.

"Are you certain you're okay? You're acting a bit strangely and you're rather warm. Do you have a cold?"

"I-it's not a cold Ciel. I assure you!" Lu affirmed quickly before glancing at a nearby clock. "A-anyways, I'm going to bed. G-good night!" She said before hurrying off and closing the door behind her. She shook her head and got dressed in her night gown, reprimanding herself for her inability to tell Ciel the truth.

A few hours later, Ciel had finished up cleaning the house and was walking towards Lu's room to check up on her. Peering into her room, he saw that she was sound asleep. Just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard a small voice.

"Ciel..." It had came from Lu's general direction. He stopped and looked at her again. She had rolled over and he saw that she was half awake. "Ciel...?" She said again as he turned around. Ciel smiled and walked over to her.

"Yes Lu?"

"I... I had a nightmare... Could you stay here for tonight?" She asked reluctantly before looking up at him. Ciel smiled and nodded, taking his coat off and sitting on the side of her bed.

"Of course Lu. I'll stay here. Forever and always." He said, causing Lu to smile. She mouthed a "thank you" before drifting back off to sleep. After a moment, Ciel laid down next to her and held her close to him. Lu subconsciously snuggled closer to him, seeking warmth.

"I swear, I'll protect you at all costs Lu, and not because the contract obligates me too, but out of my own free will. Good night Lu..."
