Chapter 8: Realizations That Brought Such Anger

Lucy POV

"Go away...Laxus!" I screamed, hugging Shishi and TK to my chest. The 2nd generation dragon slayer smirked and started to walk closer.

"You can't make me," he said.

"But I can," Natsu said. He stood from my bed and made his hand burst into flames. Laxus used a lightning bolt and made Natsu crash to the floor, making it crack and break. I gasped. Laxus chuckled and started towards my bed once more.

"Give me my children, little princess, before I force them from you," he said. I growled and spat in his direction.

"Never, you pig-headed psychopath!" I shouted again. Shishi started to whimper and cry at my chest. I gasped and turned from laxus to my children. They were both crying. I sat up some more and rockd them back and forth, trying to calm them.

"Hey, we ain't done talking yet!" Laxus shouted at me. I looked up and glared.

"We will finish this some other time, Laxus, when I'm not in a hospital bed and your not as angry, okay? I know don't care about me, but I know you care about them. If you can't wait a little bit to find another time to argue then your gonna regret stepping food into this room! So shut up and just look at your kids for a second!" I said. The lightning man stopped yelling and advancing towards me and stood still. I held Shishi and Tk in such a way that he could see their faces perfectly. Natsu was groaning on the other side of the room, but knowing him, he'll be alright, might be a bit loopy, but alright. Laxus just stared at the twins in my arms, jaw slowly going slack as he watched TK open his blue eyes and smile at his huge form. He looked at me a bit harshly, but I saw what he wanted. "Just hold his head softly." I handed the baby boy over to him. He held the child with such delicacy, it shocked me. I smiled at the grown man as he smiled at his new son.

"Lucy, I'm sorry for the way I've been. I'm sorry for not helping you through the pregnancy. I'm sorry for almost pulling your hair out seven months ago. I'm just sorry." He said as he looked at his son. I stood and had walked over to Natsu. Grabbing the dragon slayer by the scarf, I did my best to get him on a bed comfortably. He lay unconscious and limp, his mouth hanging open with a slight snore coming from it. I walked over to my baby daddy.

"Don't worry Laxus, as long as you help with these kids financially and paternally, I'll not be angry, but you gotta promise you won't hurt either of them. I don't care what you do to me, just don't do anything to them," I explained. Laxus looked up at me and nodded.

"I promise."

Gray POV

It has been a while since Erza and Levy left the infirmary. Lucy was in there al alone with the Flame Head. something bad was gonna happen. I headed over to the door slowly, doing my best again not to seemed too worried. But when I had my hand on the handle, I heard a voice that wasn't Natsu's speaking.

"...I'm just sorry." It sounded like...

"Don't worry Laxus, as long as you help these kids financially and paternally, I'll not be angry, bt you gotta promise.." after that I blacked everything out. Laxus was the father? When did him and Lucy do...it? Why did they do it? was it forced? Did he rape her? did she want it? did she know the consequences? Hoe is she being so calm about this? How is she allowing that man to be in her presence? Why hadn't I realized this? Grrr... I busted through the door to see Lucy and Laxus standing by one another by the bed that Lucy had layed in. Lucy was holding one child while was holding the other. They both looked shocked by the fact of me barging into the room. I rushed over to them and put myself between Lucy and Laxus. Seeing the baby in bus arms, I snatched it away and gave him to Lucy.

"Stay away from her you pig!" I yelled. Laxus glared at me and balled his fists.

"No, Gray listen, Laxus is the father, he has a right to hold his children, he wasn't hurting anyone," Lucy explained. I motioned to the unconscious Natsu. She smiled weakly and shrugged. "It was a misunderstanding." I looked back to Laxus.

"Don't you ever hurt her! If you do I'll make you wish you were dead!" I yelled. Laxus nodded, looking bored by my threat.

"What's going on..." Natsu said, just starting to wake up. Lucy walked over to her friend and me and laxus watched her go to him, holding the babies on one arm like a professional. She put a hand on Natsu's forehead and brushed back his pink hair lovingly. He smiled at her.

"Its just a little argument Natsu, if your head still hurts, go back to sleep, ok?" she said. Natsu nodded and closed his eyed once more, grabbing Lucy's arm as she walked away. I grinded my teeth and looked down, having my hair shade my eyes. Balling my fists, I sent a shock of cold their way.

Natsu sprang to life, flying high in the air. He landed on the ground besides Lucy who was shielding her kids. Laxus held back laughter from beside me. Natsu got up from the ground and came up to me, bashing his head against mine.

"What was that for Ice Princess?!" he yelled.

"Stop being such a pain in the butt, Flame Brain!" I yelled back. Natsu caught fire.

"Why don't you, you Droopy Eyes!" I made ice surround my body.

"Shut up Pink Haired Lizard!"

"Why don't you Blue Haired Ice Pixie!"

"Grr!" we growled at the same time.

Laxus POV

Lucy came to stand next to me as we watched the two mages have a name calling battle. She chuckled every once in a while, but still feeling worry for their heads. I just scoffed at their childlike behavior. I glance at Lucy for a second. She is watching TK's face intently. He was looking at me with admiration. I turned my head to see him fully. He looks so much like me its shocking, I thought. Lucy looked up at me and smiled big. Looking back to the ice and fire idiots, she frowned once more.

"Laxus, I need you to do me a favor..." she said. I looked at her and nodded slowly.

"Yeah, Lucy, anything, since I did do," I motioned to the kids sheepishly, "this to you." she rolled her eyes.

"I kinda need you to go and buy some stuff for the kids. Like a crib and stuff," she said. "I wasn't expecting them for another few weeks and I hadn't the time for a baby shower so I really need you to do this for me." I nodded and looked to the brawling children before us.

"Alright, but I'll need a list of the things you need." She nodded to.

"And will you be a dear and bring these two idiots with you, I need them to go away for a bit until Erza and Levy help me set up the house. And I don't feel like telling them what happened just yet," she said. I nodded. Looking to Gray and Natsu, they were both on the ground fighting still. Sighing, I turned for the door, putting a hand on Lucy's shoulder.

"They'll leave as soon as you leave the room. Come on, you gotta list to write and I got a grandfather to avoid," I said with a smirk. Lucy chuckled and turned slowly to be standing the same direction as me. I put my arm around her shoulder, gave her a small shock of electricity that should feel warm and fuzzy and walked her out of the infirmary doors.

You know what Lucy, I thought as I glanced at her when she smiled at her children in her arms, you wouldn't be a terrible Mrs. Dreyer.
