Beautiful Day

A week later, Bucky and I are in Avengers Tower. I look at something on Bucky's list and I go to the piano. I lose myself in the song i'm playing. Bucky wants to hear my voice so I sing the song for him.

The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There is no room
No space to rent in this town
You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not movin' anywhere
You thought you'd found a friend
To take out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace
It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
A beautiful day
Don't let it get away
You're on the road
But you got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination
You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
See the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
So touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day Was a beautiful day

As my song finishes, I sing another one as I leave the tower.

A million thoughts in my head
Should I let my heart keep listening?
Cause up 'til now, I've walked the line
Nothing lost but something missing
I can't decide what's wrong, what's right
Which way should I go?
If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh, yeah
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh, if only
If only
If only
If only
Every step, every word
With every hour I'm feeling in
To something new, something brave
To someone I've never been
I can't decide what's wrong, what's right
Which way should I go
If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh, yeah
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh, If only
Yeah
Am I crazy?
Maybe
We could happen
Yeah
Will you still be with me
When the magic's all run out?
If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh...
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh...
If only, yeah (x4)
If only
If only

As I enter a coffee shop, I see Thor sitting alone at a table. I ask to join him and he pulls out my chair explaining that Steve was the one who taught him Earth manners with females. I thank Thor and we talk about life. I ask Thor about Loki and he gives me a reassuring smile I tell him about Bucky and he gives me advice on how to tell him how I feel. An hour later, we pay and leave the shop. Thor and I talk on our way back to the tower. It gets dark and Tony wants to throw a party. As i'm thinking about the party, Jarvis tells me that we have a code green in the lab. Natasha is on a small mission with Clint I have to calm the Hulk down. I race to the lab to see the Hulk standing before me! I'm at a loss and I almost cry. The Hulk sees me and he walks towards me. I dry my tears and look at the Hulk. I'm racking my brain on how to calm myself down and I start to do some breathing tenquies. I look at the wall next to me and I toss Bruce his lab coat. I ask him about the situation that made the other guy smash all the beakers on the table. As Bruce and I leave the lab, we stop off at the suites. I go to Bucky's suite to find him fast asleep on his couch dreaming about something. As Bucky wakes up, he sees me in his suite and I yawn. Bucky lifts up the black blanket and invites me to his couch. We cuddle and I fall asleep on Bucky's metal arm. An hour later, I lift my head up and I leave Bucky's suite to get something to drink. I see the clock reads 3:32 AM. I drink my water and it's awfully quiet. I sit at the table and I see something on my right. I look at it and a note drops out of it.

Lady Amber,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for accompanying me for coffee. You're a beautiful Midgardian and a great friend to all of the Avengers. I also want you to know that no matter what happens between us you'll always be a great friend.

Your friend,

Thor Odinson

As I set the letter down, I start to think about my reply. I grab a blank sheet of paper and I write my reply.

Dear Thor,

I'm so lucky to have the Avengers as friends. You guys are amazing and kind. I'm forever thankful for the team!

Your Friend,

Amber Queen
