SATURDAY:
Today was the day I was meeting up with Matt. I had no clue what to wear so I threw on a top and leggings and grabbed my bag. I went downstairs, sat down with my mum and ate breakfast "I'm going out now." She looked at me and smiled. I smiled back and walked out the door.
My heart was pounding inside my chest as I walked into Starbucks that morning. What if he was kidding and he wasn't going to show up? Sounded like something he'd do though. I ordered a coffee and sat down at a table beside the window looking onto the street. Suddenly, I saw Matt in a black hoodie come rushing into the coffee shop, completely out of breath. He ordered a coffee and sat down opposite me. "Sorry...I'm a bit...late." He heavily breathed. Come on, say something you idiot "that's fine, I thought you wouldn't show up at all."
He laughed and sipped the coffee "why would you think that?"
I folded my arms "well, judging by your negative attitude on Friday, I didn't think you liked my presence!"
He just looked at me and sighed "I'm sorry about that I had a shit day. I was walking home from my girlfriends house and we had a fight."
When Matt said the word 'girlfriend' my heart felt like it snapped in two. I couldn't believe it. He's already taken. "Oh, you didn't tell me that you had a girlfriend." I traced the design on the coffee cup because I was so nervous and in a way, heartbroken. Matt picked up on my depressed and heartbroken look and sighed. "I hate the bitch." He said after those moments of silence. I looked at him "y-you do?"
"Can't fucking stand her, she's so obsessive and I've been trying to break up with her for weeks, but she literally won't let me."
I felt sorry for the guy. Last time I had a boyfriend he didn't even care about my existence. I found out later on that he cheated on me with some popular skank. "Why don't you just tell her that your relationship isn't working out."
"You have no idea how many times I've tried. She just won't let me free."
This is hard "I don't really know what to do." I sighed and sipped more of my coffee "do you want to go for a walk?"
He smiled "ok."

We started walking around the park after the coffee stop. We started talking about music, concerts and other things, when Matt stopped for a second. "Hey, that's my girlfriend. She's making out with someone else. I knew she was up to something." She suddenly turned around and pulled away from this other boy "Oh, Matt, I didn't know you were...err...gonna be here." Matt glared at her and walked away from the scene. I ran after him "Matt, wait!"

I found Matt eventually, sitting on a park bench with his hands covering his face. I sat down next to him and put my hand on his shoulder "You ok?" I asked.

"I don't know what to do. Every girlfriend that I've had has left me for some other guy. I just feel like I'm not good enough for anyone."

I sighed "I'm sorry, I'm really useless."

He looked back at me "You are a lot of things, but useless isn't one of them." Suddenly, he leaned in and kissed me. Not on the cheek or forehead, but on the lips. It felt, so...right. He then pulled away and got up "I'm sorry uh..I got carried away." Matt ran out of the park. I ran after him, but it was too late. He was already gone.
