31st October 1981.
A storm was brewing, but a solution nearing. Narcissa and Lucius sat in their son's room, watching him quietly sleep. Tonight was the night he would gain power of his own, be a true Malfoy man. For the past year, nobody had come close to a solution to Draco's problem, but this plan was foolproof, and simple. James and Lily Potter, had twins last year, so their power would be nearly the same as what Draco's should be. One of the twins would have its life bound to Draco, and his to theirs. But the Malfoy boy would die, if the connection was ever severed.
The Potters had gone in to hiding, having caught wind of a prophecy against them, though a tip from an inside man ensured that they would be found. It was perfect; the Dark Lord could get revenge on those that defied him, and at the same time do those that served him a favour.
While other parents were dressing their kids up as pumpkins and ghosts, the Malfoys would be seeing their son become a wizard, not unlike some other families that night, but in Malfoy Manor, it was a lot more complex than a hat and robes from the local supermarket.
At 11:54 exactly, You Know Who came bursting through the doors of Malfoy Manor, a screaming child cradled in his bare arms. He rushed to give the baby to Lucius, but said nothing as he vanished, almost as quickly as he had appeared. Narcissa leaned over her husbands shoulder, and stared at the baby who had been delivered. Iris Potter. Her eyes, nothing like those of her parents, were a bright violet, though after that they changed to a dark green, and then a deep ocean blue.
"Her eyes change based on her emotions... Good God. She was scared, that's purple. Then confused, green. And now blue, she's calm," Lucius explained to his wife.
"The only thing that matters right now, is that Draco is going to be okay. " she said in reply. While the mood had finally calmed, and joy filled the air in Malfoy Manor, not far away, lay two dead bodies. The bodies of parents, a sister, a brother, a daughter, a son. Lily and James Potter. Dead beneath their son and daughter's cribs. One crib was empty, the sheets ruffled, and just a pink teddy in the corner. But the other, was filled by a little boy named Harry. A little boy who had just watched his parents die, and boy with a lightning scar decorating his forehead. This little boy had defied death, and when the most powerful wizard decided he should die, he said no. It's still a mystery to this day, how Harry survived, but that's another story, we're focusing on his sister.
