on the 31st of July, 1980, in Godric's Hollow, Lily Potter gave birth to two beautiful babies. It was an early misty morning, and as James Potter cradled his two new borns in each hand, he declared them "Harry James Potter on my right, and my gorgeous Iris Lily Potter on my left". Harry's big green eyes, identical to Lily's stared up at him, while Iris' hazel eyes, identical to his, looked around the room, it wasn't long though, until they became a deep blue. His wife stuck her hands out impatiently to hold either her son or daughter, and as he handed her Harry, he gave her a look that said it all. The rain started to fall outside around them, and they smiled contently at Harry and Iris, finally happy, with their own little family.
Meanwhile, in a grand mansion by the name of Malfoy Manor, stress and terror filled each grand room. Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy, had had a baby boy of their own not a month earlier. He was happily sleeping in his cot, his name inscribed in the side, curving letters spelling out "Draco". Two loyal Death Eaters, recently turned parents, stared intently at the little boy, who was as peaceful as could be. The very same morning that the Potters brought magical life in to the world, the Malfoys realised that they had failed to do so. The beautiful blond boy in the cot before them was a wizard-born-muggle, or in more usual terms a squib.
Disdain and panic were the only two emotions swirling around the room at that moment, much contrary to those in Godric's Hollow. The Malfoys were a long line of pure-bloods, and were well known for turning their nose up at muggle-borns, as well as muggles in general. It was for this centuries long trait that had kept the Malfoy family in the Slytherin house at Hogwarts for as long as anybody can remember. But if poor little Draco couldn't do magic, he wouldn't even be going to Hogwarts, the prestigious school of witchcraft and wizardry.
"Lucius, he's our son! We can't just give him away!" shrieked Narcissa, tears streaming down her face.
"Well then what do you suppose we do?" the man angrily shouted back, the once happy couple now at each other's throats over their disappointment of a son. Pacing up and down the magnificent room, they racked their brains, trying to find a way to help their son and their reputation, each seeming hopeless at this point. As if a switch was flicked, Lucius suddenly made his way over to his wife and grabbed her by the hands.
"The Dark Lord. He shall help us" he said, looking in to her eyes and squeezing her ring bearing hands.
"Lucius have you truly gone mad? He will banish us! Kill us! We have a squib of a son! What will he think?" she cried back, truly seeing no way out as she shook her husband away.
"My love, you know this curse as well as I do. If any Malfoy man is born without any magic, he dies on the day he turns one. We have no choice. Have faith, Narcissa," he pleaded, wrapping his arms around his sobbing wife as they watched baby Draco cling on to his blanket, completely unaware of his fate.a/n- this is my first ever book, i hope you like it ! i'm also going to be doing a luke hemmings fan fic soon, and after that maybe a klaus mikaelson one, so please follow and vote !
