The princess and the knight

Chapter 2

I decided to already post a short chapter to thank you for the nice reviews. I will  post a longer chapter in a few days.

Usually Suhana never wanted to go to bed this early, but today she couldn't wait until it was her bedtime. She wasn't feeling tired or sick, no she wanted to hear the second part of the story!

So Kajol continued her bedtime story: The King had organised a huge ball, everyone attended the grand festivity. The king and queen had noticed that their daughter had developed a little crush on the knight. But she wasn't the only one, all the single women noticed the gallant knight. When one of the parents enquired if he would want to marry their eldest daughter the knight shocked everyone by saying:

"I'm sorry but I'm already married to the love of my life!"

"What, the knight was married!" Suhana exclaimed.

"The whole crowed was amazed, a silence fell over the party, the princess who had heard everything was crushed; her first love died before it had a chance to blossom.

The following days she tried to avoid the knight, but that was quite impossible since the King had accepted the knight to represent his kingdom. That was the reason why the knight wanted to see the King, he wanted to serve the King." Kajol explained.

"Oh I don't like this story anymore," Suhana said.

"You just have to be patient, it will have a happy ending," Kajol ensured the disappointed girl.

"The knight brought his wife to the kingdom and when the princess saw the devotion in the couples eyes, she knew they loved each other deeply, she smiled and hoped one day someone would look at her the same way. She got the know the knight's wife and learnt that she was a lovely person too. So the princess suppressed her feelings of love for the knight and let them transfer into a deep friendship.

But still she couldn't help dreaming about a prince on a white horse who would sweep her off her feet. She didn't realise her dreams where soon to come true."

"Jippie, that's sounds more like it!" Suhana exclaimed.

Working all those years in the movie industry has learnt Kajol one thing it's best to pause when the audience is captivated by the story, so she said: "I'll tell you the rest of the story tomorrow: Goodnight princess,"

"Oh I can't wait 'til tomorrow,.." Suhana said.

"You'll have to be patient, I need my rest, I don't want to be late two days on a row," Kajol admitted.

"I promise I won't turn off the alarm clock," the girl promised.

"So it was you," Kajol said in a severe tone.

"I'm sorry," Suhana said earnestly.

"I shall have to punish you young lady!" Kajol threatened even though she was an actress she found it hard to look as if she really was angry with the lovely girl.

Suhana looked worried, Kajol looked really cross. But she didn't have much time to worry because Kajol's fingers started to tickle the girl.

"hihihi, that tickles," Suhana laughed.

Shahrukh was standing outside Kajol's door, in all her excitement to hear the bedtime story Suhana had forgotten her favourite teddybear. He was about to knock on the door when he heard the laughter, he smiled and waited a few seconds before he knocked on the door, not wanting to interrupt their happy moment.

"Come, hihi" ..."In" Kajol managed to say between two laughing fits, Suhana had found Kajol's ticklish spot.

Shahrukh smiled and said: "Now I understand why my daughter was so eager to go to bed."

"Ah daddy it's so much fun sleeping over with Kajol," Suhana exclaimed.

"I can see that," he smiled. "I brought your teddy bear in case you couldn't sleep without him."

"Oh I didn't even notice I forgot him," Suhana said, but still took the bear from her father's hand.

"It seems I'm not needed any longer," he stated a bit sadly.

"Oh common, we all need you," Kajol said. "As a matter of fact, could you help set the alarm clock, you know I'm not that technical," his friend asked.

Suhana gave Kajol a strange look, she had seen Kajol set the alarm without any troubles, she was about to say something but Kajol winked at her so she kept silent.

Shahrukh walked over to Kajol's bedside, he leaned over her to set the alarm. Kajol pulled him on top of the bed and started tickling him, Suhana immediately pitched in. Shahrukh laughed uncontrollably.

Kajol always noticed when he was feeling left out..
