I woke up in a sweat, Hoping this was all a sick twisted nightmare. I sat up to see Tyler sitting at my desk. I laid back down and sighed. This situation is real. I tried plotting my escape but it was no use. This is my life now.
"Why are you guarding me?" I asked Tyler as I sat up.
"You have the rest of your life to live, and you need a little support." Tyler said.
"What about your mom and your friends?" I asked Tyler.
"My friends have their own guardians, and my mother isn't ready to see me yet." Tyler said.
"I feel guilty. Everyone's known you longer than me. I'm not your family, I'm not your high school friend, I'm not your ex, I'm just your new friend." I said, sighing.
"My new best friend. I've never felt so close to someone!" Tyler exclaimed.
I smiled. I got up and walked over to Tyler. I hugged him and didn't let go. He stroked my hair and I felt like I had my best friend back. Back in my embrace. Back in my grasp.
I heard a knock on my door. I walked over and opened it. It was Neil.
"Hey! I heard what happened." Neil said.
"Yeah." I said glumly.
He walked in and hugged me. I stayed in his arms for a while. Little did he know, Tyler is with me and watching this all happen right now.
"Who were you talking to when I walked up to your house?" Neil asked.
I looked over at Tyler. To Neil I was looking at nothing. Neil looked confused.
"What are you looking at?" Neil asked.
"Why are you acting so weird?" Neil asked.
"Um..." I said pausing.
Neil glared at me. I looked back at Tyler and he motioned for me to stop. My face became red.
"You're acting weird. Look, I'm sorry about Tyler. I gotta go." He said.
"Wait, let me explain!" I shouted.
Neil turned and walked out the door. I sighed and looked back at Tyler as I frowned.
"I fucked up." I said.
"We do need to go over some things, but that's why I'm here." Tyler said.
I got into my car that day with Tyler and we decided to drive to Michael's.
The conversation I was about to have baffled me.
