I woke up with a slight headache, but as far as hangovers go it wasn't that bad. I checked my phone to see it was 9:48 already. As I was getting dressed I heard a notification for a text.

Tess: Hey Lizzie, isn't the weather wonderful today?

Liz: yeah. It is.

Tess: don't you wanna get outside and do something!

Liz: Tess what are you getting at?

Tess: I need you to fill in. I know I'm not supposed to get you involved with things, but work is getting in the way of me helping Jak hunt Metal Heads. He needs another gun to watch his back and hunt too.

Liz: Tess I don't know how to work a gun.

Tess: use your knives. I still have them from that one time you learned how to use them. I'll send them with Jak.

Liz: fine. I guess I'll do it. You owe me one though.

Tess: great! You will meet him at the entrance to the sacred mountains. You know where that is right?

Liz: not exactly, but in guessing that it is what's behind the air locked door in the crops.

Tess: yep. Well cya! Thanks again!

I looked through my closet and chose a dark blue hoodie and jeans. I put one some combat boots, and pulled my hair back out of my face. I decided to leave my phone at home.

I went to leave out the front door but Lud stopped me

I went to leave out the front door but Lud stopped me.
"Where do you think you're going? After last night the answer is no where." He said. I stalked back to my room and waited a few minutes before opening my window. Lud forgets I have a weird ability of easy climbing, and quickly got down from my room. I dropped down into the pavement below me and walked off in the direction of the sealed door I mentioned before.
After half and hour I was there, and it opened on its own, closing on its own behind me too. there was a warp gate on the other side of both doors, and I could see Jak waiting up at the top for me. I cautiously stepped through the warp gate and ended up next to Jak.
"About time you showed up. What took you so long?" He questioned, holding out my two daggers for me. They each had designs carved on the blade and handle of them, and the handle was embedded with a small blue gem. I made them myself with the help of Gil. I took my daggers from him and held them close to me.
"I had to walk so Luddy wouldn't know."
"You could 'borrow' a zoomer." I rolled my eyes. "Let's just go." He added.
I nodded my head and stuck close to him as we searched. We found two scouts.
"I've got the one across the lake, get the one on the cliff." Jak mumbled to me. I gave a quick nod and silently ran off in that direction, as Jak noisily clomped through his section. It was easy to see that scaling the cliff was impossible, and going around would be loud, so I stuck my knives in my belt and easily climbed a tree, which put me directly behind the scout. With one swift movement I was ontop of the scout. What I least expected was the strength of the beast. It was able to fly still. Am I that light? It wasn't long before I was struggling to stay on while trying to stab it. I saw that we were over water, and shifted my weight. Every move I made from here was natural to me, though I don't know how. My legs wrapped around the creatures body, as I clung to it upside down. I thrusted my dagger into its belly and dragged it down. As the beast died and went limp I unwrapped my legs and kicked off of it, plunging into the water.
I dragged myself back to land, and picked up the Metal Skullgem. Staring at it I traced my fingers over it before placing it in a small bag I had brought with me, along with my daggers after I washed them off in the river. I found my way back to the waterfall, the main area, and saw Jak with the fading carcasses of metal head scouts.
"Not bad, for a beginner." My jaw dropped.
"How the hell....? Actually no, I don't wanna know. Let's go back before Lud realizes I'm gone." I said.
"I want you to meet someone first." Jak said.
"Alright. Lead the way." I followed Jak and convinced him to walk instead of 'borrowing' a zoomer. The walk took a good half hour since even with a shortcut, but that's okay. I smiled as I watched couples. Eventually we reached a place at a dead end corner of the slums. I recognized the green and black symbol on the door. They lead the rebellion. Bad bad bad. Gotta get out of here.
"I should go. It's not safe to be involved in the war." I went to turn around but Jak nudged me forward.
"Just give it a chance, if you don't like it we won't say a word about you being here." Jak said. He opened the heavy metal door and let me walk inside first.
"Hey Torn where are you?" Jak called out, but the room was empty as I looked around. But then, of course, in my moment of hesitation and confusion, Antonio and Hannah came into the room. When were they part of the rebellion.
"Oh, hey Liz, what are you doing here?" Antonio said, as if nothing was wrong.
"Ok, I should really go now Jak. I'll see you at the bar tonight?" I left after that, and headed off in no certain direction. I finally made my way home, and climbed into my through the window without being caught. I peeled off the damp clothes I had on, and ran a quick shower before getting dressed in a sweater, black skirt, boots, and pulling my hair back with a black ribbon. I'd wear this tonight too.

I climbed back out of my window and wandered off in a random direction, wanting to be far away from home when Antonio got back

I climbed back out of my window and wandered off in a random direction, wanting to be far away from home when Antonio got back. I found myself in the water slums near the pumping station entrance. I sat down on the boardwalk and stared at the filthy water, unknowing of the few tears that ran down my face. The unlocking of the door and the heavy tread of footsteps startled me and I jumped into alertness.
"Hey Liz." Jak sat down next to me. "I'm sorry about earlier."
"It's not your fault that he's blind." I said. "He used to love me. Used to spend all his time with me, but now that he has her, he doesn't even care. He's careless too, shouldn't have been so chill with me being there." I sighed and wiped away my tears.
"I know what that's like. I used to like this girl, Keira, but she likes this racer." Jak shrugged, his eyes glazed over as if he was recalling a memory. "We should get you to the bar so you're not late for work."

I stood, trying to think of what song to sing.

Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'll be the one, if you want me to
Anywhere, I would've followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I am feeling so small
It was over my head
I know nothing at all

And I will stumble and fall
I'm still learning to love
Just starting to crawl

Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
Anywhere, I would've followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I will swallow my pride
You're the one that I love
And I'm saying goodbye

Say something, I'm giving up on you
And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
And anywhere, I would have followed you
Oh, oh, oh, oh say something, I'm giving up on you

Say something, I'm giving up on you
Say something
(Say something- A Great Big World)
