Picture on the side is what I sort of think Violet would look like. It's an image off google so I don't claim any rights to it. Hope you enjoy this chapter/new part. Please comment if you like it, I don't know if I want to continue it. I wrote this one for the awesome person who read the other parts. c:
Violet's POV
I whip my head around to see who the mystery person is. I see a pair of scuffled black and white converse. As my gaze travels upwards, I see the ripped black jeans with a loose fitting belt, which is obviously not doing anything. The shirt is slightly crumpled and almost half tucked in. Like they had put their shirt on and in their rush putting their pants on, they accidentally had a piece of shirt tucked at the side. The logo on the shirt was 'For The Love Of God Drop Dead'. I look up further to see the face I knew belonged to the body behind me. Oliver was smiling like an idiot at me.
''Take a picture, it'll last longer.'' He smirks.
My face burns and I turn to look about across the water to hide my blush. I hear the sand shift behind me. Oliver plunks himself down beside me, and a soft oomph escapes his lips.
''Play me something?'' Oli requests almost inaudibly. My eyebrows furrow together in dismay. I shrug it off and shake my head.
''I don't sing in front of people.'' I breath softly.
He chuckles lightly, "It's just me. Besides, you don't even have to look at me or anything. Do what you were doing before. Either way, I think you have an amazing voice and real talent."
My mind starts whirling. Should I sing for him? Well, the real question is can I sing for him. I have pretty severe social anxiety. Oliver's cute sneeze tears me from my thoughts. Wait, did I just say cute sneeze?
''What song?'' I mumble as I run my hand through my hair nervously.
''Whatever you want, love.'' Oliver smiles, his hands twitching with anticipation and impatience.
I finally settle on Rise by A Skylit Drive.
Clearing my thoughts I rest my head on my guitar and strum lightly.
''Some days I feel like a loaded gun
I paint a target on everyone
Get off your knees cause I'm telling you
What's done is done
What will you do?
Will you run?
You think you're running away
I think you're running in place
Run!
I've never seen you this way
Do not pray for an easy life
Search for the strength to walk the line
I see a hope that's hard to find
So don't run away
Away
Some days I feel like I'm fucking done
I'm waging war against everyone
It's killing me like it's killing you
What's done is done
What will you do?
Will you run?
You think you're running away
I think you're running in place
Run!
I've never seen you this way
Do not pray for an easy life
Search for the strength to walk the line
I see a hope that's hard to find
So don't run away
Away
This ends tonight
Do not pray for an easy life
Search for the strength to walk the line
I see a hope that's hard to find
So don't run away
Away." I finish passionately but tenderly. I open my eyes, looking at the star filled water wash up the shore. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Oliver looking at me with the same goofy grin he had on the other time he heard me sing. I shift around with my guitar still in my lap until I'm face to face with Oli.
''So.... Whatcha think?'' I inquire trying to act nonchalantly while drawing in the sand with my fingers. Curse my social anxiety. One of it's 'side effects' is constantly worrying about what others think about you. At least that's what its like for me.
''Absolutely fucking amazing!" Oliver suddenly shouts while springing up to a standing position.
Before I know it, he grabs the hand not holding onto the guitar and drags me up with him. Almost as tall as him, I look into his eyes and see them twinkling with the reflection of the water, and that doesn't conceal the excitement dancing in them.
