The bell rings, and it is time to go to my 6th period class. I frown, because I am all alone. None of my friends are in this class, because it is for rare companions. I get up with a sigh, and wave goodbye to my friends. I walk to the golden building, which is the training gym. This class is about learning to use the abilities and skills of your companion. I walk in, and stare around in horror. The class is full of boys! Rhoda, who is following behind me, lets  out a burst of flame in annoyance. Griffin walks in behind me and says, " Cool! All boys!" I tell him, " Not cool. Not cool at all."

The teacher, a man called Ross, calls everyone to the center of the gym. I slouch over, and go to the back of the crowd. Unfortunately, Ross recognizes me, and calls me to the front. He says, " Welcome everyone! This class is to test your bond with your companion. All of you are special people, as you have a rare companion. This is Sophie, our second in command. As you should know, she is a golden dragon companion. Please welcome her, as she is the only girl, unfortunately." I half smiled, and Griffin smirked.

He walked up and said, " Hello! As you know, I'm Griffin. Please, no autographs. " He stopped, waiting for a laugh. Everyone laughed, and he continued. " It's my first time taking this class, so could everyone say their name, companion species, and something about their selves?" He pointed to me and motioned for me to go first. I sighed and said, " I'm Sophie, I'm a golden dragon companion, and I hate celery. " Everyone looked at me strangely, and I shrugged. I didn't know what to say.

The boy next to me chuckled. He was tall, with dark hair and blue eyes. He says, " Hi, I'm Jake. I am a Djin companion, and I hate this class."  I laughed. " Good one, " I said. " I wish I had thought of that". He smiled and said, " So, a golden dragon companion. Very rare, and correct me if I'm wrong, only one is born every 1000 years." "You're right, but I'm not as rare as a griffin companion," I grumbled. He sound surprised as he said, "You don't like him?" he asked. " I thought you were his second-in-command." I replied, " Doesn't mean I have to like him." We both laughed and turned our attention to Ross.
