~~ × ~~ Nate's POV. ~~ × ~~

It was Sunday around 4 pm when I decided to ask my dad about the match.  I got up from the bed and put my laptop beside me. I was on Tumblr when I remembered that I had something to do other than being on the Internet 24/7 like every Sunday. I stretched and walked down to the living room to find my dad watching some crappy reality show. I throw myself down the couch to sit beside him.

" Hi, dad. " I greeted and he looked at me smiled then focused back on the TV.

" Hey, Nat. What's up? " he asked. Man, I wish I had a camera with me now.

" You still going to the school game today? " I asked just to get a hesitant nod from him. " Great. Can I go with you too? "

That's when he looked at me so fast I'm surprised he didn't get whiplash. His eyes were as big as a bowl and his jaw almost hit the floor. I couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.

" So? Can I come with? " I asked again between my laughing fits because he still didn't say anything. After about 10 minutes he composed himself and looked at me with the biggest smile I have ever seen.

" Of course but why do you want to go so suddenly? " he asked all his attention on me.

" You know Ryan? From the football team? He asked me if I wanted to go and see it. " I saw his face and I know what he was about to ask. " We are kinda friends, I think. I said yes so I'm gonna go clean myself up a little. " I added.

" Okay, but we have to go soon then if we want to have good seats. " he was still in shock but I could see that he was incredibly happy. I know he was proud because I have good grades. But I also know he always wanted a son who at least liked sports.

I went back upstairs to my room and opened my wardrobe. Should I wear school coloured clothes? Is that a good idea? I picked out black ripped skinny jeans and a red sweater with white letters on it saying ' Be yourself '.Black and Red are our school colours. I combed my hair and put in black earrings. I pierced them last summer but I never wore earrings in school. I grabbed my phone and wallet just in case. When I was ok with my look I went downstairs again.

" You ready? " dad asked still grinning. I nodded and waved bye to Sally, kissed my Alicia's forehead and we were off to see the game. There already was a few cars in the parking lot. Dad parked the car and I hopped out.

We went to the benches and found a good seat for ourselves. We still had half an hour so I went to buy myself a Coke. I was waiting in line when someone tapped my shoulder. I spun around and came face to face with a smiling Ryan.

" Hey, you really came! " he said giving me a bro-hug. Then he looked at me up and down and fixed his eyes on my ears. " Wow, you pierced your ears? That's awesome. How come I never noticed? "

" I said, I would come so here I am. I pierced them back in summer I just never got the chance to put them in. I always forget." I spun back to order my drink and bought one for Ryan too and paid for it. I give him then we stepped out of the queue.

" You didn't have to," he said looking at the drink. He had a weird look in his eyes when he looked at me that I couldn't figure out.

" I wanted to besides you look quite nervous. Are you okay? " I asked concerned. He really looked nervous and pretty on edge.

" Yeah, just excited to play again after such a long time," he answered. I had to go back to my dad so I said goodbye to him and encouraged him a little. I know he will do amazing. He isn't the team's most important player for nothing.

When I got back there was a pretty decent crowd but we still had some minutes and people were constantly coming through the doors so it will be full in a matter of seconds.

" Took you long enough. " my father greeted me once I was back. He wasn't alone anymore so I looked at the men beside him then back to my dad. " Oh, this is Ryan's dad  William Collins. Will this is my son Nate. "

" Nice to meet you. " I said and sat down next to him after we shook hands. My dad's side was already taken.

" Nice to meet you too. My son told me about you," he told me. I was curious about what could be said about me.

" Yeah, what? " I asked.

" He really likes you, I think you're his second-best friend," he said with a mischievous smile. I smiled at that even though I had a weird feeling in my stomach that I didn't like. I then turned my eyes back to the field. The teams started to come out and Ryan was the first one earning himself a loud cheer from the people. Including me for my surprise.

He looked up and scanned the crowd when his eyes met mine he smiled then resumed walking. I heard his dad mutter something but it was too quiet. When both of the teams where up they greeted each other then went to get ready and I presume to get the strategy over once again. And the game began.
