My dad has been doing better. At least I understand most of what he is saying now. I missed the bus today so I had to walk. My boots tapped against the cracked sidewalk. The wind blew my messy brown hair up and lightly placed it back against me. Chills rushed threw my body as the cars dashed next to me. You notice many details when you have nothing else to think about. Like how the grass dances with wind. Or how the raindrops make music against the street. I arrived at school just in time. The new girl was there. "Rebecca can you please come up." Ms Darbes ordered. The girl rose from her seat and approached the desk. So her name was Rebecca. I couldn't figure out what was it that made her so unique. I got home and saw that some one had moved into the house next to mine. I walked over and knocked on the door a lady old enough to be a mom opened the door "Hello love. How can I help you?" she greeted me. "Hi I live next door and I just wanted to welcome you." She had that same shine Rebecca had. "Oh thank you. Look my daughter is new here and she doesn't know many people can you maybe talk to her?" "Uh sure" How could I say no she seemed so nice. "Great. Let me call her over." She walked down a hallway and came back with her daughter. "Hey." she waved. "Its Rebecca right?" "Yea?" "We go to school together." Her mom told us to go for a walk and get to know each other and so on. "I'm Ellie." I said. "So how does it work?" she asked "How does what work?" "This town." "Its simple. Everyone is missing something." "Everyone?" "Basically." "What are you missing?" I looked around, I didn't know if to tell her or not. "Sorry Rebecca but I have to go." I walked away with that.
