I sat on the couch with my cousin's four year old son,
Watching Spiderman,
Hanging out,
And talking about Marvel characters.
The four year old turned and said to me,
"i wish i could be like deadpool
because bullies are like bad guys
id shoot em right between the eyes
id finally be cool
oh i wish i was like deadpool
because although the other superheroes
are sometimes mean to him
it all works out for him
in the end".
I looked at the child with curiosity.
"But shooting people is bad," I told him hesitantly,
Like a politician caught lying.
"so is being mean"
It was stated plainly.
It needed to be.
