"Hi." He greeted her with a confident but polite smile and didn't give her a chance to say something. He bowed before her and asked for her hand. "May I have this dance?"
I admired how he planned EVERYTHING. As he finished the question, the up-beat music turned to 'You and Me' by Lifehouse and the lighting changed to a mellow ambiance. I looked around and all of the attendees were pretending like nothing's happening in that breath-taking scene. He knew she'll feel uncomfortable with the eyes and all. I wanted to salute him then. He sure does know how to make a girl feel special.
Janie looked around, a little worried. Even though nobody's looking, she felt their stares. He took her left hand and placed it on his shoulder, his right hand went to her waist, then he took her right hand and leaned a little closer. "We're invisible." They both smiled.
And as predicted, she stepped on his foot throughout the whole song. And they talked in whispers. And they laughed softly. And for those 3 minutes, they lived in a world only the two of them knew.
As the song ended, they parted. "I'd like to give you dancing lessons." He announced. "You're the worst I've ever encountered."
She knew he was teasing so she tried to hit him but he caught her hand and pulled her close. He was taller, still, despite her 3-inch hills so he was looking down and she was staring up at him. For a few seconds they just stood there, slowly being eaten by the dreamy atmosphere and letting each other drown in each other's gaze. Again, in a world only the two of them knew.
