I now reside in a forest deep in the mountains far from civilization wandering the forest i could feel the power of nature coursing through my body my senses heightened i could hear the water flowing through the rocks in the river below the wind through the treetops the branches cracking from the squirrels that raced across them as if in a race against time itself. i could see all the colors of the forest like never before they were bursting with color each leaf every piece of bark the rocks even the animals themselves the colors were unbelievable but what really got to me was the smells i could smell everything the smell of the fresh berries growing from the surrounding plants the animals themselves each with there own unique smell. Following my mothers footsteps my steps short in stature i was almost running in order to catch up with her. almost out of breath my mother came to a stop at the edge of a hill. turning to me her face glistened in the warm glow of the evening sky her long brown hair fell upon her small shoulders the same shoulders that seemed to hold the burdens of the world her porcelain white skin looked as if it would shatter at any moment. with the last of my strength i raced up the hill and hung onto her with all my might. "look Nick that's our new home she said," as i looked down i could see a forest of trees.
"where mom i don't see anything."
waving her hand the forest split itself apart and among the trees lie a house a small one only big enough for two but it was home. I lived in that house for two years playing with the creatures of the forest we did much together. There favorite thing was when I told them stories. I told them all types from happy to sad, exciting to scary all different. They always liked one story more than any that I told them, it was a story of adventure danger love and although it had no happy ending it would keep them wanting more and more. Two years having passed with peace but peace would never last for long and as if to tell me that the forest erupted into flames. The forest was ablaze running through the forest unable to feel the flames I raced to try to get to my friends. I found them trapped within fallen trees that were set ablaze by the flames I jumped into the flames to get to my friends and I didn't know what to do. I tried controlling the flames to create a path but the flames were to strong. So I tried something different I tried pushing the trees out of the way and it was working. Then a tree started to fall right on top of everyone so letting go of the tree I reached out and grabbed the falling one but it was huge a great oak of the forest I knew I could not hold it for long. My limbs losing strength I looked back at my friends expecting fear I wanted to comfort them but when I looked at them they all had smiles on there face
"It's going to be fine Nick you must live, live for us," they said softly and gently.
"No I won't leave you!" I said
Then they walked up and pushed me out of the way. Looking with horror in my eyes as my my friends were crushed and burned within the flames and I was powerless to help them and for the first time in my life since I was born I wept as the flames engulfed the area around me I cried and all night as well he forest turned to cinders and ash I cried then when my eyes could produce no more tears I slept. My astral body then shifted to another memory.
