"Lillian, Lillian! Wake up!"I slowly opened my eyes to find bright green ones staring into them. Ava, my four year old sister, is jumping on top of me trying to do what my alarm clock fails at daily; wake me up.
"Rosy said you have to get up right now or you will be late." I sat up and looked over at my clock, my eyes widened as I realized it was already 6:45. Let's back up shall we?
My name is Lillian Summers, I live with my nanny Rosaline and my little sister Ava. Our parents passed away two years ago in a car accident coming home from Christmas shopping. I was devastated and had shut down for quite some time but, after a while Ava started wondering why mommy and daddy didn't come home from the store, so I decided that I needed to be strong for her.
We look like twins separated in the womb having the same curly red hair that flowed down our backs, and piercing greens eyes. As I mentioned earlier Ava is four years old, and I just turned 17 this summer. Today is the first day of senior year. I rolled out of bed and hopped in the shower. After getting a shower and throwing on a my new maroon romper with some strappy sandals I rushed down the stairs, grabbed a muffin, kissed a frustrated Rosy, snatched my keys off of the key ring and slammed the front door.
I smiled and kissed the door of my baby, Rosy let me use some of the money my parent's had left me behind to buy a 2017 White Jeep Wrangler. Her name is Mikah, Mikah the Wrangler and she is my baby.
I got to school in record time with even a bit to spare. I met up with my best friend Jasmine, she looks just like me except her hair is jet black, however we still seem to have similar green eyes.
"I already swung by the front office and grabbed our schedules, because I could somehow just sense that you were going to be late." She looked up at me over her phone.
"Thanks." We had the same schedules as always, there weren't enough seniors in my school to have more than two classes so Jasmine and I always ended up in the same classes. We walked into the school and were greeted with the same boring halls we have been walking for twelve years. Our school isn't fancy, and we aren't high-class fancy kids, just plain ole us. I walk to my locker and throw my books for other classes in and just grab what I need for math. Math, our first class, and my least favorite. I mean don't get me wrong, I love math but it just takes so long to work out the problems and blah blah blah.
The day goes by and next thing I know we are sitting at the lunch table, lunch is gross too, so don't think that we at least get good lunch.
"Lunch blows," Maggie says, Maggie is Maggie basically, there is no way to describe the crazy character Maggie is. She is in the grade below us, but we love her more than anything.
"Agree," Jaz replies. After nodding my head I got up from my seat.
"I'm going to the library, I've got to get my application from summer tutoring to Mrs. Jones." Jaz looked at me
"Good luck," she said with a smirk. Mrs. Jones has always hated me and I could never get to the reason why, but I honestly stopped caring around the tenth grade.
I was on my way to the library and I was turning the corner when I knocked into something hard and then I was thrown up against the wall.
"What the-" I opened my eyes to find darkened blue ones staring into mine.
Marcus.
The schools proclaimed bad boy. I never knew him personally, always stayed away from him, and he has never been in my class except for this year. After getting out of my thoughts I felt him breathe on my ear.
"Stay out of my way sweetheart." Before my brain could even register what he had said, he was gone. I caught my breath and continued my walk to the library. I turned my papers into Mrs. Jones, only barely paying attention and bolted back to the lunch room to tell Jaz of my encounter with the school's bad boy.
I told Jaz and Maggie the whole story, Jaz was making faces at me the whole time and Maggie was making some noises, even I am ashamed I have now heard. We finished our classes and the day was basically over. I hopped into my baby and rushed home ready to spend the afternoon playing with Ava.
I pulled up into our driveway and saw a moving truck outside of the house right next to ours.
"That's weird," I said to myself. Choosing to ignore it I walked in and was greeted by Ava jumping into my arms.
"Lil!Lilll!!" She squealed, she is so adorable.
"Let's go play with ken!" Ken is our Pembroke Welsh corgi puppy that I got for my 17th birthday, he is so much fun and Ava loves him. After setting Ava down I went to talk to Rosy. I gave her a kiss on the cheek and she handed me a cookie
"I see you and Ava have been baking today" I commented, melting inside at the amazing cookie.
"We have" she laughed.
"Hey Rosy, when did the Morgans move out?"
"I'm not sure, I don't even really take notice anymore, I saw a nice family getting their stuff out today, it looks like they have a little girl Ava's age and a boy your age, maybe a little older." She said wiggling her eyebrows.
"Ohh okay, well I guess you and Ava have probably made them a cake and invited them over for dinner so I guess I shall go get ready, am I correct?" I looked at her questioningly.
"You are correct." She laughed at me as I stomped up the stairs yelling in protest.
"Your silly antics to set me up with a boy will never work Rosaline!!" I smiled, so thankful for her in my life. "Oh! But a woman can only dream!!" I could hear the smile in her voice.
