Amanda and Paityn left after the kitchen was cleaned and everything was out away. That was eighteen days ago.
No sign of Marcus since then, and on the one hand I was happy. But there was this little part of me that was wondering how he and I had managed to not have an encounter for eighteen days, especially after the whole "you don't know me" scene he put on in my room.
Deciding to just let it go, I shook my head and continued taking my notes in English. Speaking of English this class was literally about to kill me. I'm not joking.
The bell rang, dragging me out of my head for the time being. Hauling my books down the hallway to my locker, I was intercepted by Josh.
Pause.
Introducing Monroe Wood High's star football player Josh Fuller, do you get the intercepted pun from earlier now? Anyways, Josh was a typically high school star but also he wasn't. He hung out with the jocks, partied, didn't make the best grades, and was in detention almost every time it was held. However, he hadn't slept with half the school and he didn't break girls hearts, well as far as I know anyway. I had always liked him a little, just because I thought he wouldn't ever hurt me.
"Hey, you're names Millian isn't it?" I internally huffed, of course he didn't know my name, I was a nobody to him.
Now before you get started on me, I'm not nervous. Do not start labeling me as some cliche chick or I will loose it. If I wanted to talk to a guy, I would. I can thank my sarcastic side for that.
"Lillian, actually." I just offered a small smile, ever though I have been crushing on him, it totally blows that he can't even remember my name. His eyes went wide.
"I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names. Anyways I was wondering if after school you would want to hang out, maybe go get some ice cream or something." He looked at me and confidence just radiated off of him like no one I had ever met. Meanwhile I was internally having a pro and con graph chat debate.
Pros of getting ice cream with Monroe Wood's star:
* Free ice cream, duh
*Hanging out with my crush since elementary school
Cons of getting ice cream with Monroe Wood's star:
*He couldn't even remember my name
*I don't really need the ice creamI rolled my eyes at the last one, who cares. I love ice cream and at this point the pros out weighted the cons.
"I'm sorry, did I say something....or...?" He looked at me with concern and I realized I had taken to much time with my internal debate.
"No, no I'm sorry, you didn't say anything...just Yes, yes to hanging out." I hate having to fix situations that I put myself in, and I really need to stop talking to myself so much. These head conversations take up time that I'm not aware of, and to other people I just look spaced out. Josh smiled and nodded his head.
"Good. You can just ride with me, I have to go grab something out of the locker room, meet me outside my truck?" I nodded my head and he smiled before leaving me there to deal with getting my books, and my thoughts, together.
I threw the books I needed in Mikah then locked her and slipped the keys in my pocket with a smile on my face. I walked over to Josh's truck and leaned against the passenger side waiting for him to appear from the locker room.
"Waiting on someone?" I looked up from my phone to see Josh smiling down at me.
"Actually yes I am, but I'm not sure why, I should have left ten minutes ago. He has left me waiting, and I don't fancy waiting." Josh's face turned to one of worry and I could already feel the apology coming so I stuck my hand up in his face.
