After the cheerful gathering at Adrien's monster-sized mansion, the guests begin to disperse as soon as dinner is over.

And just like that, Adrien is alone again.

But, the boy could not complain: his father let them in, "Thank you, father. This been a really great evening." And with those parting words (and a small smile), Adrien stands and leaves the room.

Adrien clambers up the stairs and past the gigantic portrait always hanging on the wall. His bedroom door swings open at his touch, and he plops down on his bed.

"It's a shame there was no camembert." Plagg grumbles, floating out of Adrien's shirt pocket without a care in the world.

A light chuckle escapes Adrien's mouth, "Yeah, thank the lord for that." His eyes are immediately drawn to the window when a girl in a spotted suit flies past. A smirk makes its way to Adrien face as he glances at Plagg.

Plagg's eyes widen, "Wait, no—"

"Plagg, claws out!"

Ladybug swings from building to building with ease, humming a merry little Christmas tune. Dinner at the Agreste mansion had been delicious! Not only that, but Marinette had gotten to sit right across from Adrien!

Though even on the merriest of evenings, Ladybug just couldn't shake the feeling of guilt as she thought about how Adrien had tried to warn her that Santa wasn't an akuma. Because of her stubbornness, she caused that akuma, and she knows now that she should have listened to Adrien's warning.

"Guess I'm on the naughty list now, huh?" Ladybug asks the sky as she comes to an abrupt stop on top of a random house.

"You? On the naughty list? Why, my lady, you could never be naughtier than you are nice." Ladybug startles slightly at the sound of Chat's smoother-than-honey voice, but relaxes almost instantly.

"That's what I'd like to think..." Ladybug trails off, a slight shiver running through her body as an icy gust of wind passes.

Chat comes to stand next to Ladybug as he says, "It's cold out right now. Why aren't you at home with your family?"

A tepid smile spreads across Ladybug's face and the freezing cold air is nearly forgotten, "Well, we just went to my friend's house and had a huge Christmas dinner. I can tell it made him really happy, especially since this is his first Christmas without his mother..." The sparkle in Ladybug's eye draws Chat in and he almost misses what she says.

Chat's eyes widen at her words, "Wait—were you at the Agreste mansion?"

A nervous chuckle escapes Ladybug's mouth, "U-um... No..." she turns away and face-palms at her horrible acting skills.

Meanwhile the only thought running through Chat's head is: I might know Ladybug. I might really know her!

"M'lady, I believe we spent the evening together." Chat's smirk is enough to make Ladybug scowl.

"What? No... No one I know even acts a little similar to you, Chaton. I think this is all in your head." Ladybug pushes the thought aside, unwilling to accept the chances that Chat Noir could be one of her classmates.

Chat chuckles, "To be fair, I act nothing like my civilian identity. Then again, no one I know acts quite like you either, Bugaboo. Well... Nah, I don't even know her that well." Chat's ears droop as a girl with blue-black twin-tails and bluebell eyes flits through his mind, "But... Wow, you two do look awfully similar..." Chat leans in towards Ladybug's face, studying her suspiciously.

Ladybug leans away and shrugs, "I doubt we know each other, but whatever you say, Kitty."

A warm hand latches onto Ladybug's hand lightly, stopping her from leaving, "Merry Christmas, Ladybug."

The grimace on Ladybug's face disappears, only to be replaced by a warm, gentle smile, "Merry Christmas, Chat."

Chat's vivid green eyes follow Ladybug until she swings out of sight. A sigh escapes the cat-themed hero's mouth as a small smile graces his face, "I finally figured it out, Mari."
