Bella's POV
"How do I look?" Maryn asks by doing a 90 degree angle in front of the mirror. I'm about to reply when she goes back into the closet.
"This looks better right?' She questions wearing an entirely new outfit. This time she has emerged in a burgundy skater skirt with a tight crop shirt tied together with a thick tribal print cardigan.
"Yes! You look good. If Mason didn't find you attractive he would of dumped you years ago." I playfully reply. I look in the mirror to check my outfit. I decided on black high waisted shorts paired with a plaid shirt tied to the side, it's just close friends coming to dinner, there's no one to impress.
"Bells, I heard the door ring can you please get it? I'm almost done with my make-up."
"Sure." I get up and head to the door.
"Hey! Dylan, you made it!" He nods and gives me a kiss on the cheek.
"Where's Maryn?" He asks while scanning the room.
"Getting ready for Mason." I reply and wink at him.
Dylan and Maryn are two of the best friends you could ask for. We all met in high school, and have stuck together ever since.
"I think that's him." I say as I hear a slight knock at the door. "Can you get it please?" I ask Dylan while dumping a bag of chips in a plastic bowl.
"What's up bro?" Mason says while walking in. Dylan and Mason start talking about, whatever guys talk about and Maryn seems to hear him causing her dash out of her room and into Masons arms.
"Babe! You made it!" Maryn shouts greeting her boyfriend with a hug an endless supply of kisses.
"Get a room." Dylan obnoxiously remarks while shoving some chips into his mouth.
"C'mon guys lets dig in. I'm starving." I say while bringing the food we ordered from a local Chinese place to the table.
"So how are you guys enjoying living in L.A by yourselfs?" Dylan curiously asks.
"It's great. Shopping, eating, sleeping in late, you know." I reply while trying to pick up the rice with some chopsticks but give up quickly and grab a fork.
"Hm.. Have you met any new guys?" Dylan asks, obviously letting his curiosity get the best of him.
"Oh yes! Tons! I have three dates in a row next week!" I sarcastically respond.
Mason chuckles. "You better not let her influence you." He says as he gives Maryn a warm smile.
Maryn's POV
"Of course not!" I reply.
Mason and I have been together for two years now, we were the "it" couple in high school and we suprisingly, are still together. Not that I'm suprised we have lasted so long, it's just he's attractive and always has girls begging for his attention. I continue thinking about all the things Mason and I have been through when Dylan and Bella's laughter pulls me out of my thoughts and back to reality. I squeeze Mason once more in our lingering embrace and join my best friends at the dinner table, hearing Mason's footsteps follow from behind. As I sit down Bella and Dylan continue to joke around. This is how it was back home, Dylan mindlessly falling deeper and deeper in love with Bells. All those times she got asked out, he sat back and watched. I really do feel for him, but there's nothing I could do. He would not allow me to tell her or even hint at it...
"Babe?" Mason questions, once again yanking me back from my thoughts.
"Sorry, what?" I ask giving all my attention to my boyfriend. He chuckles in response and shakes his head before answering.
