I'm in my bedroom, cradling my phone in the palms of my hands, should I call Josh? Or not. Should I head Eugene's advice? Or not. What should I do? I would ask Cameron but he and I aren't exactly on speaking terms and as much as I'm surprised that I think that, it is true.

I pick up my phone and key in Josh's phone number. If he doesn't pick up, I'll just pretend that nothing happened...

I click on his name and wait. No one picks up. I call him for a second time. No one picks up, yet again. Maybe this third time will be the charm? The phone continues ringing as I silently hope that he would pick up.

He doesn't.

I decide to give up so, I get ready for bed and slide under my comfy duvet ready to sleep, except, my mind is racing with thoughts. Well, thoughts that mainly revolve around Josh. I don't know what it is about him but every time I try to think of something else, his image would come back again. I am not okay with that. I want to sleep.

I close my eyes again but then start to feel vibrations. I shoot up from bed and reach over to my phone. Josh.

I feel my heart rate speed up, even though he hadn't picked up my previous calls, I couldn't help but feel excited.

"Hey,"

"Hi Josh,"

The line goes silent for a while, I thought he hung up. He did.

I sigh, what did I think was going to happen, he probably just clicked the wrong number.

I set my phone back down and try to get comfortable in bed again.

My phone vibrates again. It is Josh, again.

"Hi again," he says.

I don't say anything so the line is silent again. I thought he hung up on me again.

"Let's play a game." He didn't.

"Okay, what game?"

"It's called, 3 truths and 1 lie."

"Oh... How do you play?"

"I'll give you four statements, one is a lie while the other three are truths. You have to choose the lie."

"Okay,"

"I like you, I like you, I like you."

I can't think, I feel as if it is too much.

"Isn't that only three statements."

"Yes, because there is nothing, about my feelings towards you, that I will lie about,"

Somehow I managed to fall asleep after last night. My conversation with Josh seems like a foggy memory, a dream, but I know that it happened because I wrote it down on my phone that I am going to hang out with him tomorrow, that is today.

We are meeting for lunch and the sun has only just risen so I have lots of time to get ready.

Over the course of the week, I have learnt the names of the maids, Susan and Ann. They aren't the typical little girls who had to go out and work as a maid for her poor family in the sad books. Susan and Ann are in their sixties and the reason they are working is not because they are poor. From what I know, they live a comfortable life. Why they work as maids, you may ask. Well, the sisters decided that they want to work as maids to spend more time together. They thought about being maids for Mansion Pearce since they wouldn't have to be here all the time during summer break and cleaning is apparently their forte.

"How was last night?" Ann asks as she wipes her hands on her apron.

"It was fun."I say with a wide grin.

"And what would you like for breakfast darling?"

"Some eggs and toast will be fine. Thanks Ann."

Ann nods in acknowledgement and gets to work. I love watching her work in the kitchen, everything seems to fly everywhere and land in all the right places and in the end, I am able to gobble up the end product.

Soon enough a plate of toasted bread and scrambled eggs are set down in front of me. I use my phone as I eat my food when I get a message from Josh.

Josh: Hey babe

Me: Hi Josh

Me: I'm not your babe yet though.

Josh: Yet

Josh: You will be soon, don't worry <3

"Who are you texting?" a familiar voice says.

I look up from my phone to meet Cameron's eyes.

"Josh," I reply simply.

"Oh, okay,"

Josh: See you later

Josh: babe

He stops messaging.

Me: okay

I put away my phone to finish up the rest of my food. As I'm about to leave for my room, I feel Cameron's hand touch mine, he is holding me back, I hear him take in a deep breath of air. He was about to say something but when I turn around to look at him, he doesn't say much.

"Never mind," he says as he lets go of my hand.

I am confused but my excitement over my meeting with Josh starts to buzz inside of me and soon, I am over flowing with excitement about meeting Josh, I am so excited that I stop thinking about what happened between me and Cameron earlier.
