H A T H O R
Walking inside school towards my locker, I avoided eye contact while tightening my grip on the worn-out leather brow backpack that was slung on my shoulder. When I arrived at my safe-haven from the savage hallway, I was relieved to see Flora already standing there. Seeing that she was again studying last minute for the math test that we had first period made me laugh while I opened my locker to get my books for the day. "Didn't study last night?" I voiced out my thoughts, amused as I saw her looking up for the calculus with a glare. "Chanson Hamilton threw a party last night; I just couldn't not go." She replied defeated, closing her book as she threw it into her bag. I rolled my eyes, finding it unnecessary to voice out my annoyance at her crush she had on Chanson's buddy Aidan Price who would have been surely present at the party. I sighed while shaking my head slightly in disappointment but the little smile on my lips gave away how I admired her determination. "You are one of a kind Flow, but don't let your grades slip for some silly crush." I simply stated, shutting my locker. Making our way towards our first class, Flora kept telling me about her night and what happened. It was usually like this, Flora being the active one and me being the listening ear, that's how our friendship worked. Flora knew that I didn't appreciate people into my private life outside school unless I invited them and she accepted that when she decided to hang out with me during school hours. Soon after that we had laughed about how quick the gossips of me and Flora being gay started spreading because we didn't hangout much with other people, especially me. Flora had other friends for the same and other gender, but me I didn't consider anyone my friend and rather spent my time alone then listening to pointless conversations. I had already enough of that with Flora, so the students of Mount Eden quickly labeled me as the shy one. They couldn't have found a less fitting label then that because let me make it clear I was anything but shy. I was straight forward, mostly rude and sarcasm flow through my body instead of water, as Flora had stated. When someone would talk to me, I would only respond on something that would concern me. So, when a random jock came towards my locker and asked me how I was doing in my first year, my fellow students couldn't understand how I simply closed my locker and turned him my cold shoulder. After that came Flora, I remember how much she tried to socialize with me and every time I would bluntly tell her off but now we are here and it's working so I can't complain. Walking through the door of our class, we took place at the back at the left side next to the window. Flora already crying over the unavoidable score she was going to get; I wasn't panicking since I had enough time to study last weekend. When the bell signaled, that class was starting, our teacher announced that we needed to separate for our test. I laughed at Flora's silly actions of telling me to help her as she left while the teacher started giving the tests out, I started filling in the blank page with ease and finished it in a matter of minutes as I lazily shove the test on the front of my desk and turned it around. I saw some students giving me a glance while Flora just straight made cry faces towards me. I decided to hang back in my chair, avoiding my crazy blonde friend so I wouldn't laugh for the whole class and became fascinated by the trees outside the school.
The sound of the class door opening brought me back to my surroundings while I let my eyes drift towards the one who had disturbed my peaceful silence together with the rest of the class. I couldn't help it to roll my eyes at the two students who came in late as usual and didn't look one bit concerned about it as they were fooling around with each other again. Aidan Price and Icarus Wood better known as Ica since he found his name to "ancient" stood in front of the class, clearly pissing of our math teacher even more. He was almost turning red from anger. "Mister Wood and Price, glad that you two honored us with your presence." He stated, making the two boys look at him. Icarus was the first one to answer, showing his pearly white teeth while he smirked at the teacher. "I honor the school with my presence yes, shouldn't you kiss my feet?" his arrogance was something, rolling my eyes at the "bad boys" of our school I turned my head to look outside again while the teacher started screaming and the two of them started laughing loudly. The following actions were that the teacher send them to the principal's office and picked up the test. Soon after that started our next period and time flew by. Getting up from my chair in history, Flora stood by my desk as it was lunch time now. "I can't express how much I hate history, no school in general." She started which made me laugh. "It isn't that bad." I shrugged as we walked out our class. "It is, come one it's torture!" she exclaimed making me laugh while walking towards my locker. Seeing Aidan, Chanson and Icarus standing a bit further from my locker in the corner of my eye, I decided to ignore their stare towards us while opening my locker and putting in my books. When Aidan made a hand signal for us to come stand by them. I nudged Flora's arm which made her finally look up from her phone. "Aidan Price wants you to go to him." I winked while her face light up in excitement. "Are you serious?! No way he remembers me!" she whispered yelled which made me roll my eyes. "Flora nobody could forget you, like you can make an elephant run away from you when you talk." I teased her as she scoffed clearly disagreeing with me. "I see you at lunch then?" she asked walking slowly towards the group. "Tomorrow, I'm out." I replied, turning away for her and walking out Mount Eden, ready to get my daily cup of a warm drink.

Buying a take-out chai tea latte and black coffee at the local café, I carried the two cups with me to Lynch's boxing gym, opening the doors and maneuvering myself to not spill any coffee I managed to pull it off like every day while listening towards the hard echoes of punches rang inside the gym. "Austin, brought your coffee!" I yelled, making the buff boxing trainer stop his workout. "My personal assistant always making me happy with my dial caffeine." Austin smiled, wiping away his sweat with the towel that hang around his neck. "What else could I do, rather spending time with you then home." I replied with a blank face as Austin laughed. It was a daily routine for us, me skipping school, coming to the gym, bringing Austin's coffee and help him with his training till school ended. Taking the black coffee from me, me and Austin took place on the side of the boxing ring, drinking our addictions. Normally I would join his caffeine party and drink a vanilla latte but today I had decided to drink tea since I was in the mood for it. "How was school?" Austin's voice teased, making me scoff at his childish behavior. "I manage." A blunt response was the only thing he ever got from me on those questions, everyone I socialized with knew that I didn't mix my personal life with anything. I had school which was in company of Flora, Training and drinking with Austin and partying with Chloe. I didn't ever speak of them to each other and didn't discuss much with them also. They knew my name and enjoyed my company which was the same way with me, I was a good listener to them and sometime gave my opinion if they needed one except for Chloe we had a mutual desire to get fucked up on drinks and drugs. Austin however was the one I felt the closest to of all of them, always teasing me and letting me know I'm a little girl. It was warm feeling that he gave me, almost brother like. Finishing our drinks, I had gone towards the changing rooms to put on my training clothes while Austin got ready for our workout. It was funny how we got to know each other, me dining with my parents in A la French Cuisine, the French restaurant in town and he with his ex-girlfriend Marybelle, short story short my mother was insulting me the whole night till I snapped and almost broke her plate ratatouille on her face. Lucky for me, Austin took notice and carried me outside before I could make a scene and told me to take my anger out on him. I never imagined that I could make a man three times my size cry with punching him. "Ready for this, sugar?" Austin teased, pointing sexually at himself with an arrogant smirk as I walked outside the changing room. "Point one that's disgusting and two you don't want to go that way Lynch." I almost vomited about the thought of that while Austin snickered. "You would wish I was into little girls." He teased throwing me my boxing gloves as I rolled my eyes. "Less talking, more hitting." And that's how a fight with screaming and a lot of aggression of three hours started .
When me and Austin had finally finished, I noticed that we had finished later than usual. Seeing that It was almost five in the afternoon and the gym opened on six, I decided to take a shower first and then hurry my way home. Changing my clothes to my baggy comfortable sweater and high waisted ninety's jean, I grabbed my bag and walked towards Austin. "See ya tomorrow Hathy." He ruffled my hair as I scowled at him. "Bye." I called out after walking out the gym, towards the street. Seeing two figures walking towards where I was, I decided to plug in my earphones and blast Lithium from Nirvana on loud. Ignoring the existence of everything around me, I walked towards home. Little did I know then that Chanson Hamilton and Icarus Wood were staring after me.
