I was carefully walking down the long, disgusting streets. I felt ashamed when people looked at me. Anxiety and fear would explode all over my quivering body as I gulped. I stumbled across rocky obstacles as I slipped through the destroyed cities. There was rubble scattered all over the ground like soldiers in battle. I kept contemplating to my lonely old self, where should I go? I wandered everywhere I thought looked interesting enough. I used to be very picky at the time but when the war was going on, I felt like nobody knew me. I didn't have much friends, you see, there was no one really you could trust during that period of time. I kept walking and tumbling over sharp objects that didn't really catch my eye. Where was everyone?
Eventually, I managed to find a safe place to rest my tired body. Suddenly, a poor, lonely child raced near me with sadness and worry as she sat down further from me. She looked about 5 or 6, but she was was too young to be here all by herself. I stood up, shaking with fear, as I slowly walked to the beautiful girl. I felt so sorry for her. She looked so innocent. I lovingly sat besides her when she reached out her scratched, hurt hand. I looked closely at her to see ash marks staining her dress, white as snow, and bruises and cuts all around her tiny body. I began to realise that she probably haven't bathed or showered in quite a long time. She opened her cracked mouth and whispered hopefully,
"You friend? Nasty man follow me. I scared."
My heart dropped into an empty pit in the bottom of my stomach. Her short understandable words had touched my heart so much that I began to feel a cold, wet tear slowly slide down my pale cheeks. I didn't know what to say...
