A/N I barely had any complete entries so along with Starlingkit and Breezekit, I'm going to use Ravenkit and Heronkit. If you end up providing a description your cat might end up later in the book.

Monarchkit awoke super excited. Her apprentice ceremony was today! She prodded Cynakit. "Our apprentice ceremony is today!" she whispered loudly.

"I know that, mouse-brain," Cynakit grumpily replied. She was not a morning cat.

But Monarchkit was. She knew she would never get back to sleep. She reached over to prod Sweetkit before realizing she wasn't there. Remembering her dream last night brought her into a panic, before she heard her voice outside the nursery.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" It was Sparrowkit's voice.

"Yes, I'm sure. It's my choice. It's what I want to do in life." That was Sweetkit.

"But you'd choose that over me?" asked Sparrowkit, not without desperation.

Checking to make sure Cynakit was asleep again, Monarchkit silently slipped out of her nest to go listen.

"Don't you understand? It's what I need to do. It's what I was born to do," Sweetkit pleaded.

"I understand. I understand far too well. Cats just don't stand a chance next to your precious herbs," Sparrowkit replied coldly.

"But Sparrowkit-"

Suddenly a voice came from behind Monarchkit. "Whatcha doing?"

Monarchkit whirled around to see innocent green eyes blink up at her. "Sshhh!" she whispered frantically to Ravenkit, one of Cobwebflight's litter.

"Why? What do we need to be quiet for?" asked the black tomkit inquisitively.

Monarchkit's heart stopped. That probably wasn't a conversation she was supposed to have overheard.

"Wait right here," said Sparrowkit. "Someone might be listening."

Monarchkit knew she couldn't hide, so she decided to face him. She walked out the nursery entrance, nearly bumping into Sparrowkit.

"What are you doing here?" he snapped.

"I'm just um, going to make dirt," she said quickly.

Sparrowkit's eyes narrowed. "Then why were you telling Ravenkit to be quiet?" he asked suspiciously.

Monarchkit thought quickly. "Well, you see, I er, was on my way to Dirtplace but all the rest of the kits were still sleeping and I didn't want him to wake them up." She held her breath.

"You heard her," said Sweetkit, appearing behind him. "She's just going to make dirt. What's making you act like you slept in a badgers den full of brambles?" Sweetkit mreowed in amusement.

Sparrowkit smiled. "Just don't take two hours this time Monarchkit, huh? You'll miss the apprentice ceremony." He jostled her shoulder playfully.

Monarchkit was not surprised by his sudden change in attitude. Sparrowkit was always like that.

Now that she thought about it, she did kinda have to make dirt.

Afterwards, she returned to find the rest of the kits awake and trying to teach Cobwebflight's litter Stone Tag, a game they had made up several moons ago.

Sparrowkit was standing on a rock explaining, but Peacockkit kept butting in.

"So you take a rock-" started Sparrowkit.

"A pebble. And it needs to be able to fit in your mouth."

"Well, the tagger takes a rock-" started Sparrowkit again.
