You're on Melemele playing island with your Type: Null that Gladion gave you.

It's pouring. I find a rock, attempt to wipe away water and sit down with Null a few inches away. My hair is filled with small droplets of water and my shoes are coated with a thin layer of mud. There's a small breeze which chills my exposed skin, but I really don't mind- it's a nice change from the typical Alola weather. I run my hands through Null's gray fur.

"Alright, Null, ready to go?" Null growls and you take it back into its Pokéball. You hop off the rock and run through the rain to make it to the nearest PokéCenter.

"(Y/N)!" I whip my head around to see Hau waving you over. "You're stuck here too?"

"Yeah," I reply,"Since I've become the champion, there's not much to do anymore."

"Well, then how about a quick battle?"

I smile. I never turn down a battle.

-------

Hau sighs. "Hmmph. I'll be sure to take you down next time! Then I'll be the champion again!"

"Oh come on, Hau! You beat me that ONE time. Then I immediately defeated your team! You were the Champion for less than an hour!"

"But it still counts! I was Alola's second-ever champion! That's a huge achievement!"

"Whatever," you say, rolling your eyes. "See you around, Hau." I wave as I walk off. I'm not exactly sure where to go next. Lillie left to go back to Kanto and Gladion is... somewhere. Ever since our last battle together, I've spent hours at the League, waiting for him to come by. He must be busy with the Aether Foundation. I decide to explore, looking for Zygarde cells that I might've missed.

I run off into a yellow meadow that I'd only been in once, in search of secrets. There's a small hole in the wall that I must've missed when I was here with Lillie. I manage to squeeze into the hole and emerge into a dark cave. I can't see a thing but I don't just want to give up and go home, so I run into the cave as quickly as I can. I run into a Zubat, Not much of a threat, And see a small exit with light pouring into the cave.

I reach the exit and once my eyes adjust to the light, I notice a familiar figure looking at the now rising moon. Gladion.

I step to his left and say,"Gorgeous, Isn't it?"

Your remark causes him to jump, "Wh-what are you doing here?!"

I get a little closer and stare directly into his piercing green eyes. "Just enjoying the moonrise."

"Hmmph." Gladion stares down at the waves. The water is reflecting the moonlight, causing it to seem to glimmer. A stronger breeze blows a colder air towards me, causing me to shiver- only a small bit, I'm trying to seem tough.

I want to say something to him really badly but I just can't find the right words. I look up at him, he's not saying a thing but I know his mind is racing with thoughts. He seems more concentrated than ever.

"Hey, you alright? You seem really... focused," I say softly.

"I'm... I'm fine. It's just... you'd think they wouldn't let a 16-year-old run an entire foundation. It can get tough at times. So I come here, to clear my mind."

My heart racing, I stand on my toes a place a feather-light kiss on his cheek. "I've always been here for you. Even if you didn't realize it."

I blush a deep red, part of me hoping he can't notice, and the other part hoping he can. Then I suddenly retract, as if it had just sunk in that I had kissed him.

"I- I'm sorry, I really don't know what came over me!" I stutter," I'll go now, I-"

You freeze when he takes your hand and says,"No, you don't have to go. Lillie's in Kanto, so is Lusam- so is mom.  It seems like there's no one to talk to besides Hau, but I can only talk about Malasada for so long."

I laugh and my cheeks burn up even more than I expected. I can't seem to find any words so I just grip his hand tighter. Gladion stares into the moon then closes his eyes.

It's almost completely dark except for the moon illuminating the night sky. I look at Gladion but can only make out a faint outline of his face. He turns his head towards me and gives me that same rare smile I saw before taking on the Elite Four. The one I could never forget.
