-Pokémon Sun/Moon- Gladion X Reader

Act 5

"So," I say, looking around for something to do,"what now?"

Gladion glances down at his phone. "Well, I have to be back at Aether Paradise by 5:00 so I've got about two hours. I was thinking about maybe taking on the Champion."

"Sounds great," I say, really exited on the inside but trying not to let it show too much. I get out my ride pager and Charizard swoops down to where we're standing. I put on my helmet and hop on its back. "Wanna come? It's a lot faster than the ferry."

Before he can respond, I throw a spare helmet at him. "Just don't let go."

Gladion peers at the helmet but then puts it on with an annoyed look. He somewhat reluctantly gets on Charizard and carefully places his arms around my waist causing my face to turn an impressive shade of red.

The ride didn't take long and we land on Ula Ula island. I toss off my helmet and jump off of Charizard. "I could've dropped us off at the top of the mountain, but where's the fun in that?"

"Well," he begins. I prepare to be hit with a sarcastic answer ,"it would've been much faster," he pauses and looks at me to make sure I understand ,"and much more convenient."

I roll my eyes and approach Mount Lanakila. I can only mutter an ,"Okay, whatever."

We make our way up to the cave, and the frozen air gets thicker and colder as we go on. I shudder and try to pull down my sleeves. I see Gladion watching me so quickly I turn my head left.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"I-I'm fine I just should've worn a jacket or pants or something," my voice trails off and I stare at a Sandshrew running through the yellow grass. My head begins spinning and my arms are freezing.

"Here," I turn to see Gladion holding out his jacket. His head is turned away, but I can see his cheeks turned a pale pink,"It'll only get colder."

"Won't you be col-"

"I'll be fine. I have a spare one at home" he interrupts,"Just take it."

"But you need it now-"

"I said I'll be fine! Just," He sighs," just take it okay?"

I silently grab his jacket and throw it on over my head. It's warm and it has a faint smell of cologne. The rip in the front of the jacket exposes my shirt, but I really don't mind. I shove my freezing hands into the pockets and trudge through the cave. There's a slight pounding in my head, but I try to ignore it.

Two Ace Trainers stand in our direction with smug looks on their faces. They almost immediately notice us.

One pulls a Pokeball from his pocket and releases a Ninetales, "I never turn down a battle!"

The other throws out a Raichu and says,"We can take your Pokemon down in a single hit!"

Gladion glares at the trainers then sends out Silvally without saying a word. I fumble to grab my Ultra Ball and release my only Pokemon I have with me. A level 11 Popplio. What? Where's my Luvdisc? I just had it on me! I need to- I can sense Gladion's piercing stare on me. I look up and swallow, my head feeling worse than before.

I look up at the Ace Trainer with the Raichu to see her with an annoying smirk on her face. Popplio only has one physical move; Water Gun. My legs feel weak and I almost trip before I catch myself.

I can see Gladion glance over at me and ask,"Are you sure you're okay?"

I slowly nod and watch as my Popplio gets struck by a bolt of lightning, then fainting. The pounding in my head gets harder and my legs give out. I fall to the ground, landing on a mound of freezing snow. I can make out someone running over to me before my eyes shut.
