Chapter 2: Ethan

Paylyn's POV

As I went downstairs I saw Grayson. Ethan didn't look surprised. He winked at me when he saw me. I rolled my eyes. Ethan grabbed my wrist gently and pulled me away from the scene. 

"I'm sorry that you had to see that. As much as I love Gray, he's a player. It's better for you not get meddle up with him." I nodded, as much as I wanted to ask more question about why Grayson does that. But I need to respect that he told me that much and Eth was looking out for me. Ethan and I got into his car. He had a 2016 Camaro. It still had the new car smell. I loved it. The interior design was so cool. It changed colors and everything. I was so entertaining. After about 20 minutes of driving we got to our destination. It was a little park with little fairy lights hanging up everywhere. It was so beautiful. I grabbed the picnic basket that I made for us. It had a Caesar salad, macaroni, potato salad and some drinks. Of course a mint fudge bar, and a mint for afterwards.  We both headed to a little area with glass that's well lit by the fairy lights. It was around 8:00 O'Clock now. It was kind of chilly now. I forgot to bring a sweatshirt. I shivered a little  bit. Ethan got up and told me he'll be right back. I layed down on the little blanket that we layed out and layed down, looking up at the stars. This was one of my favorite things to do. Whenever I felt stressed I would go up to the roof and lay down. As I drifted into my thoughts. 

 "Paylyn, here's my sweatshirt that I had in my car." He handed it to me.

"Ethan you didn't have too." I smiled

"Put it on, I know that it's Florida, but it gets a little chilly at night." I put the sweater on and it was a little baggy on me. 

"Awh, look how big that is on you." Ethan teased. 

"But it's still super comfortable." I laughed.

I grabbed the dishes that I brought and layed the paper towels down first. We were eating and making small talk. Ethan was absolutely perfect. He was so nice and so warming . 

ETHAN'S POV

I asked Pay out to hang out so I could get to know her a bit better. She was such a beautiful person she caught my attention. I don't like her like that yet. But I wanted to get to know her before Gray got to say hello. I hate Gray when it comes to girls. I wish he knew how to treat them right. I got to admit Grayson is pretty intriguing and charming, but he just isn't a good person at times. I didn't want Gray to break Paylyn's innocence. If you didn't know everyone in St. Petersburg is not very loyal. They only want you for one thing, and one thing only. I could tell that Paylyn was not one of them.  vf566 the way she is, I can tell that she is actually a quality person.  Plus every girl that I ever liked Grayson had to get in the way of. I really didn't want that happening this time. It's not like I want to date Paylyn. I just want her to become my best friend maybe. I wanted to get to know Paylyn before Grayson got a hold of her and never associate  with us.  I haven't had a girlfriend in a long time. I can't trust any of these people. Maybe that's why Grayson uses people.. 

"This has honestly been the most amazing thing ever. " Paylyn said as she looked at me.

"It has been. It's nice to relax and spend some peace and quiet." I said backed to her.

"I mean after all the hecticness it's really nice to sit here and be peaceful." She smiled as she looked down.

"It must been really hard for you to move to a brand new state." 

"It really wasn't as difficult as I expected. Leaving the people and the memories behind is going to be a little difficult to get used to." 

"You must had a lot of good memories."
