"oppa! jungkook and i are heading out!" yeri said as she grabbed her keys. "what do you mean you're goin-" namjoon said before yeri slammed their front door closed in her older brother's face before grabbing jungkook's wrist and running into the streets.they finally stopped running when they were nowhere near their apartment. jungkook huffed as he caught his breath. "what was that for?" jungkook asked. "well, i'm not allowed out after sunset but there's a light festival tonight and you really have to see it." yeri said as she grabbed his wrist again, dragging him towards the heart of the town.
"wait, wait." jungkook said, causing yeri to stop. "what is it?" yeri asked. "i think this is much better." jungkook said as he released his wrist from yeri's grip to intertwine their hands. yeri blushed as his sudden act of affection.
"u-um we should g-go." yeri said, trying to avoid all possible eye contact with the boy she was now holding hands with as she continued dragging him.--
"here we are." yeri said as they arrived at a park filled with people and lanterns. "this festival only happens once every 5 years, you know. you came here at the perfect time." yeri said as she looked for the perfect spot for them.
they sat there for hours. they loved watching the lanterns being released and seeing them get smaller and smaller and eventually disappear from their sight.
jungkook looked over to yeri who was so engrossed in the lanterns. she looked so content and happy. he admired her side profile. she really was gorgeous from all angles. he looked down at his wrist, "41:42:23" it read. he sighed. he didn't want to leave this world. actually, he didn't want to leave yeri.
before this, he would never feel so comfortable around anyone at all, not even his hyungs. he thought he would never meet anyone that would make him feel so comfortable in just a matter seconds but all of those thoughts stopped the moment he met yeri.
he decided to push those thoughts away as he continued to pay attention to the lanterns.
--
"we should head back." yeri suggested. jungkook nodded in response. they got up and wiped the grass that was clinging onto their clothes.
the walk home was quiet. jungkook was so lost in his own thoughts. he hadn't felt this stress-free in what seemed like forever and he couldn't believe that his "holiday" would be over soon.
--
"you can sleep on the floor." yeri said as she handed him a mountain of blankets and pillows. he didn't want to go to sleep. he wanted to explore. he felt that if he went to sleep he would be wasting time, time that could be spent with yeri.
yeri laid on her soft mattress as she let her mind wander. that bit of peacefulness was soon interrupted by a bored jungkook. "i don't want to sleep." jungkook said childishly. yeri laughed at how cute he looked. "then what do you want to do?" yeri said as she sat upright on her bed, it was going to be a long night, that was for sure.
