Third Person’s POV

One week had passed and Ross kept on avoiding Blue. He didn’t know the reason for Blue to break up with him; all he does know is that Blue broke him without giving any idea of what had gone wrong, causing them to break up. Ross was sweet, he would always take him out on a date whenever he has free time, he would give him present almost every day, he would make him smile whenever he was having a childish tantrum. He would give him bouquet of roses, sing him to sleep, cuddle with him, and protect him to everyone that’s bad news.

Ross respected him, he respected everything Blue had said to him, and he respected his actions, his every decision. He even introduced him to his family, to his sister, to his brothers, cousins, aunts and uncle. He did everything Blue wanted and needed. He expected his first love to be so romantic, sweet and drama-free but I guess he was wrong. He gave everything he had but he himself wasn’t enough to the one he loves.

Ross still thinks that their situation is just another hindrance for them to be together, but how could they surpass the situation if Blue wasn’t telling what’s wrong? So what he did from the 7 days have passed was avoid him, even though it deeply hurt him. It’s like putting salts in a deep wound. He wanted Blue to do the first move but it’s like he’s not going to do it sooner or later.

Ross wanted to curl himself to bed, just cry all his eyes out until his emotion emptied. But he doesn’t want to appear loser in front of Blue; he doesn’t want to show his own vulnerable side to the one who he truly loves because he’s afraid he might dump him – which was already done.

It was Saturday, he jogged for like 30 minutes or so and his sweat was dripping his forehead and to the other part of his body. He decided to go to a coffee shop for some coffee as he sat down to one of the sits. He wanted to clear his mind and not think of Blue, let alone think of his problems.

A sighed left his lips as his cup of coffee made its way to his lips, taking a sip. He was near the glass wall and his eyes were fixed to a couple who was smiling to each other, hands intertwined, swaying as they walk. He suddenly felt horribly sick, his eyes were watery.

A pair of tear rolled down to the either side of his cheek as he sniffled, bowing his head then turning his eyes on the couple again as he smiled sadly. He chuckled to himself humorlessly, feeling like a complete idiot for crying over a small thing – but to be honest, for him, it wasn’t a small thing. It’s a big deal.

The pair of tears that had rolled down his cheeks was followed by countless tears until his eyes were puffy red. His cheeks were tearstained and his nose and lips were reddish than usual. He sniffled a few times before wiping all the tears until he heard a familiar voice.

“Ross?” A familiar voice rang through his head. His breath hitched and heart stopped, he tried to act normal but his puffy eyes, red nose and reddish lips were giving in. He turned his head around, just enough for Blue to see.

“Y-yeah?” His voice was hoarse and it cracked just by saying one word. The word he said was barely a whisper but audible enough to be heard by Blue. A sad expression came to Blue’s face, he didn’t know why. Maybe it’s because of what he did to Ross, or maybe because Ross was taking it to the heart, or maybe, just maybe… He still loves Ross and he couldn’t stand seeing him like that. A guy like him shouldn’t be treated like that, a guy like Blue should be.

“Can I sit here?” Blue asked, pointing across the seat to where Ross was sitting. He just nodded and faked a smile, not trusting and relying on his own voice because he knows it would just make him more pathetic than he already was.

There was a moment of silence; Blue’s head was bowed down while Ross was giving him a sad look, shaking his head. Blue wanted to say something, but he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t say a thing to him because he knows that it’s his entire mistake. He wanted to ask for forgiveness so after some time, he broke the silence.

“I’m sorry.” Blue stated, tearing his gaze off of the table and looking Ross right in the eyes. He didn’t know what to say so the words that escaped his mouth was only an apology. He couldn’t explain or say anything better. A single tear escaped his eye then followed by many.

“Why?” Then Ross went back to crying again, not being able to stand to see Blue crying. All he wanted to do right now was sit right beside him, wrap his arms to his slim waist, and protect him from all the things that make him scared. But he didn’t do it, he wanted an explanation. “What have I done wrong?” He asked again, demanding for an answer.

“Y-you didn’t do anything wrong, it’s all my fault. I don’t deserve you.” Blue said, burying his face on his hands in frustration. He can’t say it, it’s a secret. Things will get more complicated if he tells him.

“I- I can’t.” Ross brows furrowed in confusion. His emotions were mixed with anger, betrayal, confusion and being broken. Why can’t he? He just wanted to know the truth, was that too much to ask for?

“Why not?” He demanded, getting angry in every second. Why not just spill it out so things would get easier, right?

“I can’t it’s a secret.”

“A secret? You can’t because it’s a secret? How am I supposed to know why you broke up with me then? You know what Blue? Secret is connected to betrayal and lying. A secret is a thing that you hide; causing you to lie and betray the people you love. That’s one of the main reasons why relationships do not last longer. Just like the relationship we had, it didn’t last because you kept a secret. You lied to me, betrayed me, made me hopelessly in love with you and broke my heart in a cruelest way…” Ross stood up and walked away without giving Blue a single glance.

“I can’t because you’ll hate me for it! I’m afraid because if I ever tell you, you’ll walk out of my life. I’m stuck in between two unreachable, solid walls, and the only way to get out of them is by choosing and embracing the right wall. I love you, trust me, I love you. But there’s this person I also love and I have to choose between you and him…” He stated as Ross stopped in his tracks. He didn’t turn around; he just listened to what Blue was saying.

“I love you too and I would never hate you, neither would I walk out of your life. Who’s this person you’re talking about? And you chose him over me?” Blue didn’t reply, he just kept his head bowed down. “Come back if you’re ready to spill it all out, I respect your decision. You chose him over me, so that person might be special. I just hope you made the right decision. You were my first love but I know you’ll forget me but there’s this little piece of my heart that you took and it will always love you no matter what you did. If he hurts you, don’t hesitate to call.” He stated not looking back to Blue. He walked away and as soon as he went back to their flat, he broke down crying.

He threw everything in his room and screamed. Luckily, no one was there so no one could hear and see him. No one would notice how badly heartbroken he was at the time. He hated himself for loving Blue still, he hated himself for being optimistic and he hated himself for believing they’d last longer.

He should have heed to Joe’s warnings when he said that Blue isn’t what he looks like; he isn’t innocent as everyone think of him. But he couldn’t himself but love him still and he just hoped that Blue will come back, kiss him and try it all over again.
