Caught In a Sceme

Chapter 2

The Next Day

"So are we just going to give up?" Summer asked, practically in tears.

"No, we can't. Someone framed our dad and I'm going to find out who," Winter said, trying to decide what to do.

"SWEET," Summer said "I get to solve a crime!"

"No YOU"RE staying here. I'm calling Sheela and she's going to watch you." Winter said waiting for her neighbor to pick up the phone.

Just then a strange man came running into Winter.

"OW!!" She yelped. Winter noticed the man had stolen jewels in his pockets as one fell out.

"HEY!! COME BACK HERE," she noticed a police officer around the corner, "POLICE, CATCH THAT MAN!!" Winter said, pointing at the man running away. The officer blew his whistle but the man only ran faster. Another cop showed up and tackled him and found his ID, stolen jewels,counterfeit money and the girls' dad's personal information among his possessions.

"This guy's wanted in twenty-five different states," the officer stated. They investigated his house and found proof that their dad was innocent along with more stolen jewels and other people's personal information. The next day Winter got a call from an FBI agent saying their dad was released. The girls were so happy to hear that news.

"Something still seems a little off," Winter thought, "usually problems don't end this good."

But that was only the beginning.
