Hello Keeper Fandom!! What did you think about Chapter 1? Chapter 2 is now here. Just wanted to say thank you for reading and voting or commenting. It means so much to me!! Also.... these first 2 chapters are more focused on Sophie's state. If you know what I mean, it lays the foundation for the course of the story, so it might seem a bit boring. But no worries, familiar characters other than Sophie will show up soon!!!! Enjoy Chapter 2! And vote your choice at the end.
Sophie felt the room become claustrophobic in her gaze. The dream and the question had left a resounding echo in her mind, shaking its foundations. She could see them cracking, slowly crumbling, breaking, leaving her a mindless, crazed, brok-
She willed herself to not continue that train of thought. But it already led to the next view. No matter how hard she tried to stand on her own, to make her own choices, she would always be a puppet. A sick little puppet. Bile rose up in her throat, and threatened to spill out of her mouth.
She needed to get out of there. And she needed to run and escape. Fast.
Scrambling to get the tangled silk covers off of her, she tripped and fell onto the floor. The silk sheets pooled around like cool water, trapping her again. Sophie looked up. The glowing iridescent lamps she once thought was beautiful felt like flames from a movie scene in a castle dungeon. Above her, the vines and flowers covering her ceilings and bed's canopy reminded her of the strings on a puppet swaying in the wind. Hastily jumping to her feet, she stumbled over discarded objects in the room, such as books, and clothes. The earth itself seemed to be spinning. Then she stepped on something and looked down.
It was Ella, her wonderful comforting blue Hawaiian elephant stuffed animal. But the eyes, though, the eyes. Ella's eyes reminded her of a scene in a human movie. They were staring at her with an unnerving amount of triumph. It seemed to be watching her every move, calculating her every step and thought. And it reminded her of nightmare she just had. Sophie couldn't hold it in anymore and vomited all over Ella. And yet, the eyes still stared back at her.
Sophie literally ran out of her room, crashing and knocking down objects in the room, not caring about the massive amount of sound she made. When she finally made it out her room, the floorboards beneath her bare feet seemed to creak and groan with every step she took. She ran down the flight of stairs and was nearing the doors. But of course, she tripped yet again and twisted her ankle. Still desperate to get out of the house, she clawed at the ground and dragged herself closer to the door. Her progress was slow and Sophie eventually gave up. She laid there on the floor dirty and crying.
Her mind and a voice were telling her all at once to calm down, to run, to escape, to hide, to call for help. But none of those options would end up good or actually helping her. But they continued whispering within her mind.
Shut up, shut up, shut up. Someone help, please please help.
Sophie grabbed the door handle and hoisted herself up while letting out a strangled scream. It was certain to wake her parents up, but they couldn't, and never would, truly understand her. She ran out the door letting out a sigh of relief when she felt the cool breeze hit her face. She was suffocating before.
She ran, or at least tried too with her injured angle, across the fields, laughing and crying at the same time. The grass was cool underneath her feet. Her hair flew behind her.
She didn't want to go back. She was free. Finally free. Or as free as she could ever get. She had enough of the Black Swan and their confusing plans. She was tired of the world. People's gazes all seemed to hold the same thing, pity and concern, but they were never doing anything.
Not looking back, she ran and ran and passed Havenfield's border. Eventually her short happiness turned into nostalgia when she remembered how happy she used to be. Sophie didn't stop though. The mountains and woods beyond the field seemed to call out to her. Now panting and feeling watched again, she increased her pace and scrambled into the dark forest praying that she would get lost. But this time, it was different. Sophie hoped that nobody would ever find her again.
What did you think? Do you like it? Sorry if it was a bit creepy. Comment please!!! And in this story, I will probably include other character's point of view. Next chapters will have all characters. But vote for which person's point of view....
