Chapter 1: Breakfast

Rolling over onto his back, the young Earl covered his bare body up as much as he could in the limited time he had, his heart falling when the purple-haired demoness poked her head through the open door, the rest of her body soon following.

"H-Hannah.." He sighed quietly, head flopping back against the array of pure white pillows that were strewn across his bed.

She did not smile when her name was spoken, nor did she even flinch. The woman only clasped her hands together in front of her dress, her one good eye closed, head lowered submissively.

"Claude has prepared breakfast for you." She spoke carefully, not looking up once before exiting the room just as quickly as she had came. His world seemed to come crashing down around him.

Was he not worth Claude coming to tell him himself? Oh.. The demon was too "good" for that, no instead, he had been forced to send Hannah?!

Taking a deep, steadying breath, the bright-eyed boy weakly swung his feet over the edge of the bed and stood, moving to his drawers with his mind swirling.

Choosing a simple white button up and grey vest along with a pair of black stockings and shorts, he wiggled into them quickly and easily ran a trembling hand through his disheveled blonde locks. His emotions were getting the best of him. One minute he was consumed in pure pleasure and the next, he's bawling his eyes out.

Claude caused him so much pain.

Finally making his way down the stairs, the little blonde entered the dinning hall to find the man who he had just been crying over standing next to his regular seat.

"Your Highness.." he acknowledged quietly, placing a hand over the empty hollow where his heart would've been, and bowing politely. The boy let a deep sigh blow from his lips, eyelashes fluttering as he strode up beside the demon, seating himself down in the cherry oak wood seat with leather padding on the back and seat. "Today's breakfast is a filet mignon with a side of rice and wild berries picked from the garden, served with your favorite blueberry spice tea." The inhumanly perfect man stood back, his glasses glinting as he pushed them up the bridge of his nose.

Alois turned to gaze up at the man with wide eyes, suddenly clapped his hands together in an attempt to make the terrible memories of the horrible pain he had put the boy through disappear.

"You're such a wonderful cook, Claude! You always make the best food, no matter what!" The male only bowed and fixed his glasses once more

"Anything else you require, your Highness?"

"No.. That will be all. Thank you." He nodded quietly and dismissed the butler, lowering his eyes to the plate. Thinking of Claude, his stomach quickly turned, the blonde noble lifting a dainty hand to push the newly set plate away, anger boiling up inside of him. Thinking of that monster had made him lose his appetite. Everything the boy did seemed to elicit absolutely nothing from the man. What the hell was he doing wrong?!

A sudden burst of anger and resentment shot out of the male, a skinny arm reeling back to swipe the entire meal off of the table, hitting the side wall with a large crash.

Food splattered and porcelain shattered into millions of tiny little fragments, hands trembling visibly as he pushed his chair out from the table, his arms snaking around his own waist as if to hold all the hurt inside. He stumbled from the table and fell to his knees on the carpeted area rug.

   "C-Claude!"

The stonic butler was there is mere seconds, the slightest hint of surprise showing on his usually blank features, before quickly being shut down and tossed away by the tall man himself. Damn. Alois had thought he had finally broken through, though, it was just another disappointment. Why did he even bother to get his hopes up?

"Your Highness.." He whispered, voice wary, before kneeling down to help the boy up. The demon was unsure of what was happening. He had only left the boy for less than a second, and here he was, throwing things and practically falling over himself. How pathetic..

"I don't like it!" Alois cried out to the man, shooing him away. "I can get up on my own!"

For the first time in what seemed like forever, the daring noble was filled with anger and hate towards the one person who had always been there for him. Comforting or not, Claude was still there. The blonde haired male just wanted to be alone now and brood with his thoughts, his heart and mind cursed in an endless battle with one another.

"Stay", his heart pleaded. "You love him. He may love you too. You /need/ him, and you never know what he's feeling."

"Flee", your head countered quietly. "He's a monster. A demon. One who never lets you see what he's feeling or thinking. He doesn't love you. He loves himself."
