Oochigeskw is an Indian girl that lives with her 2 sisters and father in a village called"Algonquin". She deals with cruelty, from her 2 older sisters.
The powerful invisible being is looking for a wife, and all the girls in the village vie for his affections. But only the girl who proves she can see him only be his bride. The two beautiful but spoiled daughters of a poor village man try their Rough-Face-Girl sister scanned on her face and arms from lending fires, who sees the invisible being in the wonder of the natural world.
