"Really, Aliza? You're really going through with this?" my boyfriend  argued as I packed my bags.
"Yes, Jordan." I turned to him. "This is what I want to do, so I'm doing it."
"Can't your family just come visit you?" he asked as he sat down on my bed.
"No. I haven't seen my hometown in four years. I miss it." I replied while continuing to stuff things into my bag.
"What does Florida have that Ohio doesn't?" he raised his eyebrows at me.
"Warm, sunny days. The beach." I began to list things.
"Me." he looked at me a little saddened.
"I'll be back, babe." I smiled.
"What if you find someone else?" he looked worried. "What if you decide to stay and never come back to me?"
"You can't think so negatively!" I hugged him. "I love you. That will never change."
"I love you too." he smiled slightly. "
"If it makes you feel better, I'll call and even write you if you want." I tried to comfort him. "Plus, I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun with the guys while I'm gone."
"Okay," he shrugged. "I'm just really going to miss you."
"I gave you the option to come with me." I sighed. "If you were really going to miss me, you would've taken it. Your boss even told you that if you left, your job would still be there for you when you got back."
"I just have to stay, babe. Florida isn't for me." he responded.
"I know." I replied while zipping up my suitcase. "Just know that I will be back before you know it."
"Promise?" he asked.
"I promise." I nodded.

Jordan and I had been together for almost four years. I had just moved to Ohio for college when I met him. Within a few months, we started dating and everything was smooth sailing from there on. The only problem we really had is that he never wanted me to go back home. My dad had begged me to go back every Thanksgiving and Christmas, but Jordan always found a way to talk me out of it. He didn't mean to hold me back, he just didn't like traveling and he wanted me to stay close to him. I was kind of okay with not returning, until I got a call from my older brother telling me that he was finally getting married. He and I were close, since we were only three years apart, and I knew I couldn't have lived with myself if I would've missed his wedding. Just hearing him tell me he was getting married made me realize that I had missed so much since I had left. I needed some time away from Ohio anyways. I felt like I had left a piece of me back in Florida, and the longer I was away, the more it felt like something was missing. Jordan and I argued about it for awhile, but I finally just put my foot down and explained that I had to go and that I would be staying there for the summer.

Once I was all packed up, Jordan helped me with my bags and he drove me to the airport. Before I left I hugged him tight. He didn't understand how hard it really was to leave him. It's like I knew for sure in my mind that we would be spending the rest of our lives together and that I loved him, but he was so doubtful of it. Maybe the distance would show him that we could with stand anything. I knew I was going to miss him like crazy, but I had been missing home for way too long.

"Be safe." he said before kissing me.
"I will." I nodded. "I love you. You know that, right?"
"Yeah." he replied in a tone that made me think otherwise. "I love you too, Aliza."

After we said our goodbyes, I boarded the plane. Before it even took off, I was missing Jordan already.  I had not been without him since we had met, so it just felt wrong. But I tried to stay positive. I was finally going to see my family and my friends that I hadn't seen in years.

I knew that whatever was missing from me was waiting back in Florida. I wasn't exactly sure what it might be, but I knew it had to be there.

----------------------------------

Okay, so I know this chapter is sorta sucky and it's super short. xD But I just wanted to use this to introduce you guys to Aliza and her relationship with Jordan. In my mind, Jordan is a guy who truly does care about Aliza and is very loving, but he doesn't always understand what's best for her because maybe he doesn't know her as much as he assumes he does. So yeah, I PROMISE THE STORY WILL GET BETTER! xD Make sure to comment and like! I'm going to start working on the next chapter the minute I post this!(:

Thanks for reading you guys! <3

Much love,
