You walk into your apartment, slamming the door shut and throwing your purse on the table.

Fortunately or maybe unfortunately, it hasn't really hit you yet.

Why?

Why would she do it? Why, when she knows how insecure you already are, would she put herself in a spot like that?

Why?

Why, when you'd just been listening to her 'I love you's all night long, would she betray you like that?

Why?

And you keep asking yourself the same things over and over again.

Maybe it wasn't real.

You think to yourself. And no, not the fact that she seemed deeply in love with the man who was sticking his hand up her shirt while her tongue was down his throat that was plastered on the front of the papers this morning. That was undeniably real.

You think that what wasn't real was the time she came to talk to you that one night, as you sat on a park bench alone, drawing your heart out.

"Wow," you hear someone mutter behind you, the sudden sound earning a jump from you as you immediately stand up, turning around to find the face of the speaker.

"Those are amazing," she says to you, and you smile sheepishly.

"Thank you," you reply, feeling a blush reach your cheeks as you close up your journal.

"I'm sorry, how rude of me to not introduce myself," she says as she sticks out her hand, "I'm Cara."

You stick your hand out and embrace hers in a firm shake, not missing the warm feeling she gives you when you grab it, "I'm Y/N."

She smirks as she lets go of your hand and you feel the warmth leave.

"It's nice to meet you." she says and you can see a small glint in her eye, something you can't really catch.

"You too." you reply and she again complements your drawings.

"Those are beautiful," she says, gesturing towards your journal, "what are they for?"

You shrug, "I just like to do them in my free time."

"Have you got some extra free time now?" she asks and you nod, not sure where she's going with it.

"Great, because I'd like to take the beautiful girl with the beautiful drawings over to that coffee shop across the street." she says and sends you a smile, holding out her hand.

Taking it, you feel the warmth once again, and decide that you never want to let go.

Or maybe, the time when she got home so late, that you were in tears because you'd thought something had happened to her, but she assured you that she would always be here.

The door closes silently and you sit up in bed, wondering if it's who you want it to be.

When she walks into the room, you break down into another fit of tears.

"Love?" she asks with worry in her voice as she moves to embrace you in a hug, but you push her away.

"Love? Really, Cara?" you sob out as she looks at you, confused. "Where were you!" you yell and she steps back, shocked at your sudden change of emotion.
