Shadow Man

I'm dead. I was killed. Killed by something that nobody can escape. Their own shadow. Now, I know I sound stupid, but believe me. He could come for you next. Anyway, I decided to write this guide to warn you and to let you know the signs of the Shadow Man. Don't look at this like a story, look at it like an instruction manual. Here you go, and keep safe.
I was lying on my bed, approximately 2:30 AM. Everything was ordinary, just like a normal night, but I was awake instead of being in a deep sleep. Usually I sleep very well, but tonight, there is a certain presence that is keeping me awake. I decided to put my night light on. I wasn't scared of anything, I just felt unusual, like somebody was watching me, however, we all get that feeling from time to time. I placed my hand on my phone and lifted it up to my face. I turned it on, and the bright light gave me a small period of blindness. My vision went strange, like when you look at the sun and you see blue and green patches floating around your vision. Then I saw something. A figure against my wall. A cold feeling pounded my chest. I felt dizzy and sick. I got under my blankets and waited.
"Meow," I heard. I slowly came out of my blankets and I realised, it was my cats shadow.
"Aww, spooky, you scared me!!" I said, loudly. There was something unusual about Spooky though. I couldn't see him, I could only see his dark shadow.
"Spooky?" I said, curiously. I stare at his shadow with squinted eyes. It wasn't moving. I shined the torch from my phone around the room. Spooky wasn't there. This is a trick that my eyes are playing on me. I lied my head back onto my pillow and tried to sleep. I closed my eyes for a few seconds but I was terrified. I couldn't keep them shut. Then I opened them again. The shadow was gone. Suddenly, a figure of a giant man formed onto my wall. I screamed. I wanted to turn my night light off to make the shadow disappear but I was petrified. I was frozen in shock.
"Ashley..." I heard a voice say. My heart stopped and my stomach turned upside down. Then the shadow started to walk around my walls, getting closer and closer to me.
"Go away!" I screamed. I shined my torch light onto him, but it only made him stronger. He jumped at me and I felt myself fall backwards. My vision faded away.
I woke up and I was in total darkness. I remembered what happened last night. A huge bright light shined onto me and here I was, laying in a room of darkness, with just one light shining onto my tired body. My eyes drifted to the left and I jumped. It was the man. The man that was in my room last night. He started to talk to me in a voice that was crystal clear.
"You are in the shadow realm. There is no escape now. After I finish what I'm going to do to you, you will be just a shadow, trying to escape the shadow realm, but there is no way out. You will be in the shape of your own mother, following her around, in shadow form. She will just think that you are a normal shadow, but no. The only way you can come out of his realm is if you kill the person you are following. You won't be able to do his until you have built up the strength to de-attach from your mother. But after you have done this, you can shape shift into anything you want, and you can drag your mother into the shadow realm." I was shocked. There was no way I would kill my mother.
"So, we need to turn you into a shadow, and there is only one way to do that," exclaimed the man. He took out a completely black knife and stabbed me in the heart. Unusually, I couldn't feel anything. The only thing it did was make my skin turn black and altered my vision. It was making me feel dizzy and sick so I closed my eyes.
"Oh yes, and one thing I need to tell you, stay away from darkness, get into the light, it will make you stronger," said the man.
"Nooo!!!" I screamed. And then I felt my body hit something cold. I was lying on my mum's kitchen floor. I looked up to see my mum cooking breakfast. I tried to move but I couldn't. My mum was controlling me, like I was a puppet. There is no escape. I'm stuck here forever.
So that was my experience. What I'm trying to tell you from this is, if you have an unusual shadow, no matter how scared you are, turn the lights off. It will make the shadow very weak and this way, he won't kill you. Also, check your shadows. Make sure they aren't doing anything unusual. If they are, the only way you can make them disappear is to live in complete darkness. Have a good sleep tonight, goodbye.
