To the one who might be reading this, I am not going to or trying to call you out in any way here, so don't worry.

TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE TOPIC

But I once warned another writer about this.

You should NOT be writing about rape and why do i have to say this...? You shouldn't be romanticizing it either. Rape (or forced as some of you try to lighten the term :/) is non-consent sex. Meaning without permission. Meaning that the rapist forces themselves onto the victim without preparation.

I am so uncomfortable about writing this right now, but the fact that people think it's okay to use this topic (GENERALLY FOR LEMONS/SEX BASED PROMPTS?) is gross??

Okay, imagine this. You're minding your own business in public, but a stranger grabs you. They reek of drug and alcohol. Their grip on you is bruising your arms, but they forcefully shove you to the ground as they rip your clothes off.

I'm not even gonna describe it more, but please acknowledge that being penetrated WITHOUT LUBRICATION OR PREPARATION ANALLY OR THROUGH THE VAGINA IS GOING TO HURT.

It. Hurts.

I don't understand how you writers think this type of thing is okay to write, especially for lemons and other prompts. Just me writing this tip down is stupid and it's actually making me feel uncomfortable.

The fact!! That!! I have to write this tip down!! Is stupid?? Because I honestly shouldn't have to be telling people about this? Or describing it to them??

♢ What's the difference between rape and what I want to write?

You must be like... Young af if you're asking me this. Or just not educated in this (not trying to sound offensive). Rape is FORCED and ALWAYS non-consented, you're never prepared for it. ;/

What you're 'wanting to write because it's what you're into' is probably something like rough sex. NOT FORCED. ROUGH. There's probably other names for 'rough sex', but I don't know.

  ♢ What's wrong with rape?

Oh my god lmao. You're probably a 'I have to experience it to know it' type, I bet. Well, lemme just say, sex is a process, okay?

Whether male on male, female on male, female on female. Or whatever, it's a process to prep both parties. It's like a car...? You cannot go 100 miles per hour without going the first 10, 20, 30, 40, and so on, to reach that 100 mph.

Now not being prepared before any sexual activity, it fucking hurts. Imagine the pain and a stranger, who you don't know, or maybe someone you know but don't like, is touching you forcefully.

This is gross and disgusting and literally.... There is no romance in rape.

♢ What if I include it in someone's past as a brief moment?

I would still prefer to avoid that and put something else, but... If you're going to, put a trigger mention at the start. ;/

Trigger warnings and mentions? Why?

It'd be nice to warn people before they start reading your stories ONLY IF IT'S SENSITIVE CONTENT because these are called triggers for a reason. I'm not a rape victim, but the thought of being in that situation scares me and I honestly would feel completely violated if it did happen to me, though there ARE people who are victims and prefer not to remember or talk about it, okay??

For example, there was a guy I knew in my history class. He was a delinquent, but he was nice overall. He always sat in the back of the classroom even though everyone sat in the front. (There was only five students including me and him) I once stood behind him over his desk to see his paper and he flipped out on me. I apologized to him, but eventually he confessed he was raped in prison by a guy and he feels really comfortable now when people stand or loom behind him, over his shoulder because he remembers that event so vividly.

That is a trigger example (and I hope that guy is doing well to this day, he was pretty nice to me). He was triggered by an action and people can be triggered by stories, real or not, about rape as well. (or abuse, injuries, etc.)

It's just fictional rape though. ;/ It's not real!!

You're still 'romanticizing' rape and as I stated, there is nothing romantic about rape. I bet you you're even writing about it all wrong lol.

Like I said up above, that guy in my history class was RAPED in prison. He. A guy. Raped. Penetrated. It hurt because just... Raw.

That's all I'm gonna say, case closed.

If you're writing rape in lemons/smut/sexual content then you're clearly uneducated in sex, I'm sorry, but that's the truth.

Rape =/= romance
