Chapter 3: My Dad's Santa Claus

Winter's POV:
~a few minutes later~
I'm walking around Macy's with Maryann in the cart
I turn into the toy aisle & she starts screaming
"That's the doll I want!" She squeals seeing a American Girl doll
That looks exactly like her
"You want it?" I ask her
She nods & I place the doll in the cart for her to play with..
I go into the women's clothes to find myself a decent outfit for Christmas
Since it's the big annual Christmas dinner like always..
I check my phone & i notice it's December 3rd
I have to get my holiday stuff together
I grab red dressy shirts & some skirts
While grabbing some cute jeans & leggings as well..
I walked over to the dressing room
I feared that someone would grab the cart without me knowing..
So I asked Maryann
if she wanted to come in..
Which is awkward since I barely know her & she barely knows me..
"Sure..I won't look" she says & covers her eyes
I giggle & lift her up
I carry her in the dressing room with me
I set her down & a lady comes over to me
"How many?" She asks as she chews on her gum
"10." I say
"Mm..the limit size is 9 but I'll let you slide." She says & I smile
"Thank you so much." I say & I rush in
I lock the door & I turn Maryann around
So she's facing the wall
I undress quickly & put on one outfit
"What do you think?" I ask Mary
She nods
"You look great" she exclaims
As I spin around
I have a red long sleeved dress
that's poofy on the bottom with black heels
I try on other outfits & I walk out 2 outfits
Including the dress
She smiles & I put her back in the cart
"We should go back to your daddy." I say as I try to look for him
"My daddy's Santa Claus" she says giggling
"No he isn't sweetie. Santa Claus is not your daddy. Santa is Santa. Your daddy is your daddy" I say giggling
She pouts
"Yes he is I seen him." She says crossing her tiny arms
I refuse to fight with her..
She's too adorable..
"Fine your daddy's Santa Claus" I say giggling
"Yay I told you!" She says smiling
I find Nate but he's in red pants
"Hi?" I say but it comes out more of a question
"Excuse me I was busy..doing stuff." He says looking uncertain if he should tell me or not.
I smirk & walk over to the front of the cart
"Cmon princess" I say & tickle her sides
She laughs & I grab her
I lift her up
"Noooo I wanna stay" she says whining
"Daddy let me stay with the pretty lady" she adds
He looks at me smiling
"I'm sorry Hun. You'll see her soon.." He says
"I promise." He whispers to her
But I hear it clearly
I blush & hand him his daughter
She waves bye at me
"Bye cutie" I say
"Thank you miss" Nate says cockily
"I was saying that to your daughter" I say rolling my eyes playfully
"Bye bye" she says & blows me a tiny kiss
I blow her one & she catches it with her tiny hands
I giggle & walk away..
Hmm does he have something planned?..
Nate's POV:
I watched her as she walked away
The way she moved her hips & the way her hair flew
Made my entire body stiff
The way she laughed made me smile
The way she looked at my daughter made me so happy..
I was young & dumb..I was actually only 17 years old..
I fell in love with a girl my age..
Her name was Crystal.
She was gorgeous..only she had a temper..
But I stood with her for 2 years..
We were high school sweethearts & we basically knew each other since little
Crystal came out pregnant & I didn't know what to do..
I tried talking to my parents..but they refused to talk to me..
They disowned me.
Called me a irresponsible brat
who clearly forgot how to use a condom
Their own words killed me.
I moved away from Omaha with my new family at 17
Luckily my grades were good enough for me to graduate at 17
I moved into a small apartment with Crystal
We were fine...
It wasn't perfect but we worked it out..
Our daughter was born on December 17th
a week away from Christmas Eve.
She was perfect & I loved her
I was ready for our child
since I was working on the side
I tried rapping but it didn't work well
with me having to check on my very pregnant girlfriend everyday
So I started working at various stores & did street performances in Times Square
To get enough money for the rent,the baby's stuff & food for us
Crystal soon grown tired of the baby after a week
She called me various bad names & told me to raise her daughter
As she wasn't ready to be a mom.
She wanted to live her own life..
Even if it was without me..
We broke up & she moved out..
She left to Ohio & I never saw her again
So basically..Maryann has ever met her mother..
I don't want her meeting her..but she craves to have a mother figure in her life
Everyone at her school have a mother.
She feels left out.
I tried dating but they never made it after the first date.
They hated the idea of a single dad.
But this one..
Winter Jordyn is her name..
She caught my eye & I noticed how she didn't judge me..
She did look broken & she looked hurt
Maybe she's the one?!
Maybe the girl I've been craving for me & Mary
Is right in front of me?....
