A new flus)(ed crush

Fereri's pov-

i woke up in my bed early in the morning, my head was spinning from how fast i sat up. today i was going to hang out with everyone at the beach. i was so excited, we were going to do so much at the beach! looking at shells and finding little fishes to make friends with. i get on my swim suit and put my normal clothes over it. grab all my swimming gear and run out the house before meenah or mum could ask where i was going (not like they would care either way).

on my way to the beach i run into eridan

")(i eridan!"

"oh hey fef, didnt plan on meeting you on the wway to the beach"

"neit)(er did i. excited about going thoug)(?"

" i think wwe can havve a more productivve use of our time but seen as though you suggested it i suppose i can spare some of my time to accompany you and the lowwbloods. dont wwant them pulling anyfin wwhen around you"

"reely eridan? t)(ey arent going to )(urt me, t)(ey're my friends!"

"still, i dont wwant them doing anyfin that might damage your innocent being"

i sigh, theres no point arguing with eridan, he will only keep going on about how stupid lowbloods are. i find that reely sad that he cant sea the good in them, they are my future subjects and i dont want them feeling like im better than them in every way. as i think this me and eridan arrive at the beach. i sea sollux and aradia trying to splash water at vriska, which of course she doesnt like and chases them. tavros and gamzee were making a sandcastle and putting sea shells on it, of course gamzee being himself he puts a empty faygo bottle on top claiming its the " mOtHeRfUcKiNg FlAg BrO". Nepeta and equius were playing cluck beast (or chicken as the humans call it) with terezi and kanya. eridan goes and sets up his towel under the shade of a tree and lies on it reading his book. dave, john, jade and rose were just at the shore talking and looking at some shells. ever since we came to live with the humans on earth its been a hard time trying to understand their concepts, but eventually i know everyone will get them and we will be that much closer.

i was a little concerned as i didnt sea karkat anywhere though, he wasnt on the beach or in the sea, i set my swimming things down and decide to look for him later. i take of my normal clothes and im left in my swim suit. i go into the sea and swim out pretty far but not to much and go to the bottom of the ocean to find the best sea shells that dont wash up onto the shore. as i find a horse conch a crab walks over my hand. i giggle and the crab looks up at me.

")(ello little fella! w)(ats your name?"

" ..."

"not a talker t)(en )(u)(?"

i know crabs dont normally talk but i like to sea if they do on earth. suddenly i sea a shadow pass over me. i look up and sea someone on one of those boards humans use to ride waves. with the crab now resting on my shoulder i swim up to sea who it was. as my head breaks the surface i sea karkat riding the wave rather expertly. i decide to surprise him and swim up beside him.

" )(ey crab catc)(!

" GAH! FEFERI!?"

as he says that he loses his balance and falls of the board and into the sea. i giggle go after him a little worried if i caused him to hurt himself. my fear was only a little confirmed at he hit his head of a coral, knocking him out. in a panick i pull him up to the surface and onto the shore.

as i pull him onto the beach everyone was laughing, i guess they saw only what happened on the surface of the water, as i highly doubt they would be laughing if they saw what happened under the water. karkat starts coughing up water, i put him on his side to help the water get out of his lungs. i can only asume that if i didnt help him we could have drowned.when he stops coughing he looks up at me and i look down at him

"im so sorry karkat, i didnt mean to scare you of your board t)(ingy. and i certainly didnt mean for you to )(urt yourself on a coral"

"ITS OK FEF, JUST DONT DO IT AGAIN ALRIGHT? YOU SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME"

karkat says this in a pretty soft tone, i was a little surprised to hear him speak so kindly to me when hes usualy so mad at everyone. this isnt the first time hes done this, around other people as i said hes usually very angry and always yells at them. but with me its completely different. i cant understand why this is though.

karkat stands up and walks to his things rubbing his head, i still feel pretty responsible for what happened to him. this makes me determined to make it up to him. the crab that was on my shoulder jumped off and made its way over to karkat. i swear i sea a small smile on his face as the crab does this. karkat simply runs a finger along the crabs shell, im surprised to sea how gentle he is with sea life and it warms my heart (as humans call it). kanaya smiles at me

i blush pretty darkly at this. could i actually have a flushed crush on karkat?i dont reely have time to dwell on this and eridan started fighting with sollux. those two have had a pretty odd relationship and its just getting weirder.
