Chapter 4 - The Wedding Day
The Bridal march, a tune that has been played countless times whilst thousands of brides have walked the aisle towards their beloved grooms. This time was no different and as the march began all guests rose and their gazes fell upon Miss Amelia Rose. Perched on the arm of her Father, an aged man who was beaming with pride.
The most important gaze however, was that of the Grooms at the end of the aisle, a gaze of awe and admiration. Jackson felt as though the ability to breath had been stolen from him in the millisecond that he first set his eyes on Amelia. She looked like an angel, an angel holding a vivid bouquet of Roses, the flowers that had been chosen for the wedding because of her maiden name.
The two gazed into each others eyes as they recited their vows and placed on their rings, and though this marriage between them had been arranged, not a soul in the church was any the wiser.
"By the power invested in me by the British High order of Priests, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!" the Priest announced.
This was the moment Jackson had been waiting for, the kiss to seal their destiny, the first kiss he would give to his wife. The first of many kiss's he would shower up her for the rest of their lives.
He leaned forward and lifted up her beautiful vale and cupped her cheek before pressing his lips against hers in a chaste but cheekily prolonged kiss that had the audience erupting in applause.
After the wondrous kiss that sealed their faith, two words were exchanged between the two that only their ears heard.
"Mine,'' proclaimed Jackson in the most loving whisper, and in that voice, the love he felt was translated in volumes.
"Yours." she replied, and that was enough to perfect the ceremony for Jackson.
***********
Cake was fed, pictures were taken and the garter had been slipped off. The newly married couple swayed softly on the dance floor to "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri, the night was drawing to an end and as they moved as one to the music, it was as though time itself was standing still in honour of their love. A love that had not been proclaimed as of yet, though evidently the universe knew of it before either of them had even imagined it.
"You look so pretty right now," he said, stopping momentarily to spin her around slowly, taking in her full appearance leisurely.
"Pretty? That's slightly degrading.. Husband," she replied, grinning happily.
"Mmmm, well perhaps I shall be permitted the opportunity to whisper sweeter words in your ear later tonight..."
Amelia blushed crimson, the innuendo behind his words was far beyond her tether and she simply wasn't able to produce a reply comfortably.
"This should be our song Jack" she said, changing the subject swiftly.
" Our song? Isn't that somewhat painfully cliché.. wife?" He replied, allowing her the distraction.
"Perhaps, but you've proven yourself to be quite the romantic recently Cambridge..." she mused, settling her head upon his broad chest languidly.
" Only for you baby," he replied, steering her off the dance floor as the song changed.
The couple were prepared to leave their wedding now, they had implanted enough memories and it was time to start the rest of their lives.
"I swear to God Cambridge, you better take care of her, she is Gods greatest gift to me!"exclaimed Jonathan Rose as he and his wife came to bid the couple goodnight.
